So i've been training my brother for about 6 weeks now. He has never worked out in his life and was incredibly scrawny, had tiny arms.
Now that i look at him, him arms barely fit in his tshirt sleeve. wtf is up? why is he getting big so quickly? It aint steroids because i train him personally.
Currently have him taking:
1) Creatine
2) MHP up your mass
3) 2800-3000 calories per day(thats 500-700 over his maintenance)
4) 0% junk, only whole food.
Workout made up of heavy weight, low reps doing drop sets.
Routine is upper body, lower body, back, rest, rest, upper body, lower body, back
Also, its not the creatine that filled him up with water because hes been on creatine for months now even though he only started working out 6 weeks ago(weird i kno)
any idea why hes packing on muscle mass so quickly? is it genetics?

It's a combination of things. When someone just starts out they get extreemly accelerated "Beginner Gains". You seem to know what your doing so right off the bat he is training and eating correctly. Those two things combined will make anyone blow up initially. Let me ask you this, when you started out did you do everything right/as well as you do now? Probably not because we all have a learning period. He got to skip his learning period thanks to your help so he's pretty well off right now. Be happy for him =).

Dont worry about it mate, use it as your MOTIVE to work out more, to want to exceed him, he definately is getting 'beginner' gains i know i was when i first started, listen if you wanna get huge just continue eating well and do compund excersizes, dont worry about your arms if you do deadlifts properly trust me works your biceps just as much as your back, and same with benching (tris) there is no shortcut just dedication go's a long way.
I am on a similar road, a mate of mine probs works out once a week and does like 1 excersize yet he is and always has been able to outlift me in everything (he was very fit) im training everyday hoping to exceed him one day. This isnt all the motives that keep me going but this gives you one of many reasons to keep going. GoodluckRe-born and ready to go

08-02-2011, 08:43 PM #23You will never be satisfied with your results. Years and years of constant dedication will give you the body you imagined yourself with when you started lifting. Your body is a badge of honor, that tells the world of the dedication, and time you have put into it and your body is your reward. There is no quick fix solution, only years lifting and training.
