Need help with my garage gym.
I'm gunna make my garage into a gym. It's not attached to my house. It is a separate building. It's not that large. It would fit 1 car in it.
Now the garage is full of dust and cob webs. The roof goes up in a V shape and has lots of wooden beams above that are dusty. So how can I fix this ? Or does it not matter because it's above me and not being kicked up ?. I did think of putting up a big plastic sheet to make the a flat roof.
One part of the garage has some junk that is still dusty. Should I clean it all ?. The reason I'm bangin on about dust is that when you enter the garage you can smell it.

Get a shop vac (vacuum) to clean all that dust up. You might not be able to get all of the dust up in the joists and rafters, but I'll bet you can get a lot of it.

Why is this even a question???
Clean all the crap out of the garage, or at least half of it. Clean off all the dust you can find on the rest of the crap in there. Climb up there and clean off all the beams/inside of the garage. Clean out the spiders and cobwebs.
The time you spend cleaning will pay dividends by making it a clean space you can be proud of everytime you work out in there, and you won't be distracted.

Don't be a wussy. Install the equipment and lift.

i'd clean as much of the dust out as you can, and get rid of any of the junk that you can. i don't really have allergy problems, but breathing in a bunch of dust makes me sneeze. also, make as much space as you can, working in a cluttered gym sucks.

F430 in the garage, srs!
My gym is in a single car garage and the thing I would recommend to you is to paint the floor. The amount of concrete dust liberated by equipment moving is mind blowing, I have mine so crammed with stuff though that I now don't really have the option of painting it
Concrete dust does make good chalk when I run out though so it's not all bad.

First clean out the large crap, then sweep out as much as you can, finally borrow a leaf blower a blow the rest outside (this will work real well on the ceiling part). Wash the floor a then paint it, as fishpat said, and get ready to move stuff in.
Good luck.

Yes, clean up the rafters. You never know when you might be hanging something from them.

For your respiratory health, clean out the dust and other crap. You may want to think about insulation and heating and air conditioning. Nothing fancy. A space heater and a windor A/C unit. Oh, and power for tunes.
You need a rack, bench and 300-lb. Oly set. Now, what was your question?

it's true. a ceiling mounted pullup bar would save lots of room for a power rack.

I suck at usernames
My bum has poop on it what should I do about it?
Reason I am asking is because it smells.
But srsly, you will enjoy your garage gym more if it is clean and not stinky so put your hot maid uniform on and get a shopvac and clean the **** out of it hardcore.
2k+
it's only smellz

If it were me I would empty out the whole thing then pressure wash the hell out of it. If you don't have a pressure washer or know someone who does then you can buy one for fairly cheap or rent one for even cheaper.

Gyms are an investment. For the amount of effort you are going to put in, you will get a lot more out. Clean your gym. I worked out in a dirt garage before, and had to clean for health reasons. Make sure you have good ventilation.
The easy way to get in good shape without spending alot of money for equipment.............

Dude, did you even read the OP's post? There is nothing in this whole thread asking about what type of equipment to use. Also no offense but I don't think many people here are going to take equipment or training advice from a 16 year old who recommends Bowflex "barbells"
