Where on your leg do you measure the width of your thigh?

Personally I measure at the mid point between my knee and my crotch, but am I selling myself short? Should I measure at the top of my thigh?

    Mid-thigh = 18.5"
    Top thigh = 21"
Diet so clean, I might start shiitin' dental floss.

I always go with the widest part... Easier to see the changes up or down. Otherwise, if you're up or down a little from the location of the last measurement, it won't be consistent.
    squat - 225
    bench - 145
    deadlift - 275
    press - 105

I measure the widest part. I think there is an instructional video in our Bodyspace account where you enter stats that shows how to measure body parts.

This. I actually measure everything at the widest point with the exception of waist, that I take at the narrowest point.

I always measured waist at my belly button...is it better to take it at the narrowest point?

Better for what? All that matters is that you are consistent for your own knowledge. Most people measure the widest part for everything, except the waist which they do the smallest. If you're measuring around the belly button that's fine, so long as you are doing it for your own record keeping and not to compare to other people's numbers.

I measure both to watch for trends. Three months ago my mid thighs measured 18.5 and my upper thigh 21.5, right now I am recomping and now my mid thigh is 19.25 and upper is down to 21. It can be helpful to monitor trends depending on your goal.
