After a successful bulk, I am going to be attempting to cut the next 14 weeks before my first comp.
Facts:
I am 22% body fat
I am hoping to compete in early November in Figure
My coach thinks this is an aggressive goal but could be possible considering I follow the standard chicken/egg
white/sweet potato/brown rice regimen with an extreme 6 day a week workout (cardio in the AM, lifting in the
PM) routine.
Is this a pipe-dream? Even with the dedication, could this even realistically be obtained?

Hrm, well I do not have any truly revealing photos but the best I could come up with were

Meh, I think I failed at producing photos that would be of assistance.
The question is more directed at the amount I would have to lose with the time given. We are talking about shedding about 10% in 14 weeks. Unrealistic?

How long have you been training? Are your stats in your profile updated? If so, you will need longer then 14 weeks of dieting to get lean enough. If this is your first time with a contest diet, there will be trial and error, weeks where no changes happen...so you will need more time because of this. We focus on preserving muscle 1st, losing body fat 2nd and most people have this backwards...dieting is a slow process. Keep in mind competing is not just about getting lean. The judges will be looking for overall balance and some good quality muscle to go with it.
More time will be needed.
Good luck!Last edited by kimm4; 08-01-2011 at 01:44 AM.

I feel like that is pretty aggressive for a first time show only because I started prepping (meaning a solid diet plan) at 13 weeks and I was 18% BF and now I am 9 weeks out and can feel the effects of the cut a lot. Check out my blog if you want to see progress pictures etc. I am a bit shorter than you 5'5 and weighed about 126ish when I started my cut. I almost wish that I had taken some more time to build more muscle slowly before doing my first show but on the other hand it will be good to have one contest prep under my belt and know what to expect for next time or at least relatively speaking. I have heard that preps can vary so much each time. Good luck and remember you can do pretty much anything you want if you have strong enough desire!
