Romo and Blount for Chris Johnson?
I'm in a keeper league and you get to keep 4 starters. I've got Ray Rice, LeSean McCoy, Mike Wallace, and Tony Romo set as my keepers.
He wants my Blount (or Ryan Mathews) and Tony Romo for his Chris Johnson.
What should I do?
I was thinking I could also counter with Mike Wallace and Mathews and Blount for his Chris Johnson since Johnson is the only good player on his team (he just joined the league and inherited a horrible team).

id do it, then grab a qb with your 1st pick, schaub, bigben, ryan, one of those should be available
or you could even flip johnson for a better QB
id personally keep wallace, then for you its essentially romo for johnson, since your not keeping blount anyway
Phillies - Flyers - Steelers
do it

Yeah I think Romo has the potential to have a great year, that's why I was hung up on this trade.

ouch. Not trying to play devil's advocate but I'm not a fan of that trade. Blount is going to be a very solid back and in a keeper league I think you stick with him, especially since you had depth to take the risk on holding onto him. Also giving up a great QB. While it may seem like a "no brainer" trade, it's those that hurt you the most. Can't get too caught up on the big name, I own all the top RBs scenario.

In today's NFL, there are many "lower level" quarterbacks that can produce on a FF team, unlike years past. Top RBs are extremely hard to find, especially young ones that can also catch.
Lowerlevel qbs that you could start if you had to:
Big Ben
Flacco
Matt Ryan
Josh Freeman
etc etc.
Hell i might even pick up Tebow this year.

OP you're locked and loaded, especially if this is a PPR league. Basically trading Romo (if you didn't keep Blount) for CJ was a steal, especially with the other QBs that will probably be available to you. I'm assuming you have a flex position to play all 3 of them, correct?
How many teams is in your league?

There's 10 teams in the league and the winner gets $450, second place gets their money back ($50 to enter). Not PPR, although that would be great with Rice and McCoy.
The format is:
QB
RB
RB
RB/WR
WR
WR
TE
DP (defensive player)
DP
K
I wasn't going to keep Blount. I plan on keeping Chris Johnson, Ray Rice, LeSean McCoy, and Mike Wallace-although one person has offered me Aaron Rodgers for CJ now..

What are your scoring settings? If it's 6pts per passing TD I'd consider ARodg for CJ. Also consider GB still doesn't have a good running back and Rodg is also getting Finley back. If you did that deal you'd have essentially flipped Romo for ARod.
I'm feeling a little better about CJ now that he has a QB. This one could go either way but if it's standard 4pts for passing TD I wouldn't do it.

I hope you gave him Matthews. BTW, who is available to draft for QB. I'm torn on this one man.

I'm not opposed to grabbing a couple qb's and play the matchups, depending on the scoring. If you CAN get a Flacco / Big Ben combo that's every bit as powerfull as a Romo as long as you play the best matchup. With a keep 4 dynasty format I have a feeling you won't get those types of QB's though.

Go for it then but I have Blount down as a top 10 RB. Romo is a great consistent QB, I'm all for going two lower tier QBs and playing match ups but having a solid QB makes life a lot easier. There's only so much Chris Johnson is going to be able to do in this offense, along with a worse defense that will end up giving the offense worse field position I'll pass.

I would add Bradford to this list. He had a solid rookie season and now he has Josh McDaniels as his offensive coordinator so his pass attempts should sky rocket

It's standard scoring other than 6 points for a passing TD. I gave him Blount bc I wasn't going to keep him anyway.
I'm still not sure if I should trade Johnson for Rodgers or not. I think Hasselbeck will be good for CJ, though.

Personally I'd give him CJ for ARod, but I understand why you wouldn't if you don't. ARod is in the elite elite tier (I think he's the best) of fantasy QBs... and in 6pts per passing TD leagues he is probably going to lead your league in total points (unless Vick freaks out again and is healthy for a full season). I think ARod + Whatever other RB you pick up to play as your flex would be better than a lower tier QB plus CJ...
Again, one of the reaons these elite RBs are ranked so high is because the position is scarce for fantasy game breakers (most guys are in a committee, etc.) and so you want to secure at least one of these guys if possible. You have two secured even if you get rid of CJ. I just think you're more likely to find a diamond RB or someone (they emerge every year) than you are a diamond QB, but you could make the argument either way. I'd seek out a few more opinions on this one

Gangsta of Two Wheels
I would have went Romo/matthews for CJ... then trade CJ for ARod. I just have a feeling Blount might explode this year.

yup. Have him projected at 7th RB, wouldn't draft him there because I know I can get him later. Just saying he's going to put up RB1 numbers. He's going to be a great RB2 and will give me some room to get a top WR1 since I won't have to go early on an RB2

I'm curious what your rationale is behind wanting Matthews over Blount?

he's not keeping either, they were just throw ins from his last year's roster to make this trade to upgrade.
Upon further review, OP, I'd definitely trade CJ for ARod given you already have two other top backs locked up.
What did you decide to do?
