How did you get back to leg workouts? I injured my right knee almost a couple months ago and I was wondering how to get back to deadlifting and squating without injuring it again. thanks a lot.

i did body weight squats with insane reps. I started out doing quarter depth squats doing like 50 reps a day then worked up to 300 doing them lower and lower. I had surgery for a torn meniscus. the scar tissue formed very fast and my mobility was terrible.
this was a couple years after getting the surgery. the stuff the physical therapist gave me just didn't work as well.

I tore my ACL, PCL, MCL and meniscus playing football 2 years ago. I have just now started going heavy(255x5 squat and 315x5 deadlift) since my surgery. My advice is not to rush it, sure I could have gotten back into the groove a little sooner but i dont want to screw up my knee seeing as that I will prolly have arthritis is 15 years anyway.

I had my knee scoped last year. It was not a gym related injury, though. Started by doing assisted squats (13 weeks after surgery), then moved on to unilateral movements like lunges and split squats. I started doing light squats (< 135 lbs) after another 2 weeks. Gradually increased the weight. I've never done leg extensions since my rehab.

1) Take enough time off to properly recover.
2) Take a joint supplement like Move Free Advanced along with a Calcium/Vitamin D, glutamine, shark cartilage, and fish oil supplement.
3) Wear knee wraps.
4) Do bodyweight exercises at high reps and progress to using weights. Start from the bottom and gradually rise to where you once were.*1,000 Pound Club*

I tore my ACL and meniscus 6 weeks ago playing basketball, surgery is August 11th. I haven't done anything heavy except for a few sets of rack pulls. I'm not going to do anything really taxing on my knees until I get the OK from my doc/therapist.
For my injury I have read that after 10-11 months I will be at or past pre-op strength, so that's what I have to look forward to.
Don't push it or it gets worse.
