Captain America's shield is not made from adamantium, it's made from vibranium. It's one of the few (only?) things harder than adamantium.
Wolverine would win though, as he's more or less indestructible/immortal. Pretty fair fight otherwise.

you just can't take him in hand to hand combat. he beat the **** out of iron man and thats a dude who can take some of the most powerful blasts you can imagine.

Fight to K.O. it would easily be Cap. In the comics Wolverine has been K.O.'ed by all kinds of stuff and Cap is a better fighter.
But if it's a match to the death then obviously Wolverine can soak up more damage.

i don't go by marvel wiki, sorry. i actually read a **** ton of comics and i go by the feats i have read by each character, in actual story arcs. marvel wiki means zero to me, and i do not revert to it for comic knowledge. i have an outrageous comic collection.

wolvie has mostly fought either powerhouse foes with a team or beast-like foes like himself and came out on top. Cap has spent literally his whole life beatin ass way more powerful than himself. Willpower goes a looooong way. plus wolverine berserker makes him sloppy. Cap is the living embodiment of tactical prowess.

This fight is really deus ex machina vs deus ex machina.
Fight to KO/"death", Captain would win... Captain winning is a deus ex machina itself.. and Wolverine's "invulnerability" would have some exploit.
Captain America is supposed to be the most skilled fighter in the Marvel universe (616).
btw Captain came back from the dead to. No comic character dies, they're all invulnerable.
As far as metal strength it's...
1. Thor's Mojliner hammer.
2. Captain's shield
3. Adamantium (Wolverines skeleton)
