Why people hate Zyzz I'll never know. He's a kick-ass bodybuilder.
We're dodging more ninjitsu attacks than Flex Wheeler. We're ducking more bullets than George Farah. We're facing more death than a kid leg pressing at Branch Warren's gym.

I see. I know who this guy is now then - I've seen him in one pic posted here a few times - A gay looking one.
Those legs in that shot look poor tho, they;re about the same size as mine - they're being squashed outwards by the chair seat, mine do the same.
Am I missing something tho? I don't see the attraction to this guy?! I see just as good or better physiques in the Progress Stocky thread alone! lolIG: waldronconstruction

It wasn't just about his physique, it was his antics and his personality that got him a heap of attention. In the misc, he used to post clips of him and his buddies running around doing stupid shyt (jackass style) in sydney or melbourne. He would take his shirt off in public and chicks went crazy over him, etc. Nobody is saying his physique is impressive by hardcore bodybuilding standards, but he did have a physique that was the envy of many miscers.
I don't visit the misc too often but he doesn't post there anymore. I think he got banned.

He's not banned but he doesn't really post any more. He's moved on to bigger things, I guess.
And yeah, his personality is what brought him fame. There was a really funny 30+ page thread in the Misc once consisting of him annoying girls on ********. Definitely quite a character. We're dodging more ninjitsu attacks than Flex Wheeler. We're ducking more bullets than George Farah. We're facing more death than a kid leg pressing at Branch Warren's gym.

No idea who brought up size when dealing with that term in the first place. Beyeke is an example of a big dude who's just as appealing as smaller guys , making size arguments obsolete.
Although the term is subjective to a very large degree , there are things that the vast majority agree just look bad.
Paco's teardrops , Branch's BDB , Cutler's obliques. They're there and developed , just not visually appealing.
Some people mentally mask the visual aspect of a bodybuilder by thinking he compensates by conditioning/size/striations , but objectively speaking they know it doesn't look good.People these days have more reps than brain cells

if you want to understand the term aesthetic look at a pic of Bob Paris from 1988 when he made his comeback or Lee Labrada in 88 or 89, thier proportions and symmetry are right on. I know people might look at them and say "well they are too small by todays standards"...that's kind of the point. The standard used to a combination of size and proportions (I'll use that word instead of aesthetics) now it's all about size.

well I was just using it as a blanket term. The guy pictured above (the older photo) is Jon Arnita I think and he was right there. Put a pick of Rory Leidlemeyer (sp) up when he was in his prime (83 nationals) standing next to Bob Paris..both guys look incredible and are great examples of what BB should be about but I don't even think they would smell the top 10 at a jr. national show now.
Padilla at the 81 Olympia is almost picture perfect example of what "the look" should be.

I would say that's because today's gene pool isn't exactly perfect for making eye-pleasing bodybuilders. With everything dying , the massive polution and whatnot i really don't think we're going to see a lot of eye-candy in the future.
Obligatory IMO. I would love to discuss the topic of our location affecting our dna though.People these days have more reps than brain cells
