    Shoulder

    OK,

About 3 weeks ago, i had shoulder pain in the front of my shoulder, i went to the specialist he said it wasnt torn just some inflammation, it went away.

but there has been 3 occasions of pain ever since. the other day i was working my shoulders, and i was taking a 5kg weight of a dumbell and felt a click in my shoulder and then the pain was back for about 4 days, i thought it may of been an imbalance between the front and rear of my rear delt is quite weak especially in the left one where i am experiencing this ache . So today i went and did some rotator cuff work and rear delts/back at the gym and felt no pain until i did 3 sets of bicep curls, then i picked up the bar to do 1 last set and i felt pain in the front of my shoulder. now there is a dull ache,

I dont know how else i can describe it but can any one sort of give a idea of what they think could be the problem?

I added picture of point of pain

I'm experiencing a bit of pain in exactly the same place. But it really only hurts when I do overhead shoulder exercises such as military press. When you first got the pain did you take any time off from the gym?

This sounds to me like it could be some sort of bicep tendon issue. The bicep tendon plays a role in stabalizing the shoulder, when lifting any weight overhead. So you would have pain when lifting overhead and doing bicep curls.

This also sounds like it may be a bicep tendon issue. Although, if you experience any pain with overhead lifting this could also sign of shoulder impingement.

Im no specialist, but I have been in and out of doctors offices for the passt 6 years dealing with shoulder issues. If you say you have some clicking in your shoulder im thinking you sprained your a/c joint, or there is an issue with the clavical. Please take it serious when i say rest your shoulders completely and ice them 2-3 times a day for 10-15 minutes each time or else you could end up with a much more serious injury like a tear or a muscle imbalance. Also a word of advice, if you doctor did not have xrays, ultra sound, or mri done he wouldnt actually be able to tell you if its sprained or torn..

I wouldn't be surprised if this would be a contributor to the problem. I personally have not trained rear delts directly for several months now. I've always thought I hit them hard enough on back day from deadlifts and t-bar rows. Maybe this isn't enough?

I'm putting $100 on bicipital tendonitis. You're pointing right at the location of the bicipital groove in that picture, which is the groove in the head of the humerus through which the long head of the biceps tendon passes. If it is also tender to the touch (pressure) then I'll double my bet. It's not uncommon to get popping there with certain movements, especially if there is some strain on the transverse ligament and/or damage to the subscapularis (neither of which is a prerequisite for bicipital tendonitis). Google "bicipital tendonitis" and "Speeds test."

Contributing factors are often any behind the head work (press or pull), upright rows, and heavy and/or high volume flat bench work. The only way you're going to break the cycle is removing aggravating lifts. A good round of NSAIDs, ice, and rest will help.
    2 + 2 = 5 (for extremely large values of 2)

Pec strain, then anterior Delt pain

On Monday I was doing declind db press and felt a little pop in my left pec. Was tender that night and hurt a bit on Tuesday and a little yesterday, today (Thurs) most of the pec pain is gone, except now the pain has moved to my anterior and lateral deltoid. I'm assuming this whole injury was a minor pull/strain, and the shoulder pain will subside eventually. I'm not lifting until all pain is gone, but....shoulder pain freaks me out b/c I've heard so many horror stories!
Does anyone have experience with a similar injury? Any info would be appreciated!

i've still got the pain, about a year ago i was out of the gym for 3 months due to sore wrists, resting did not do anything, when i started training properly again the wrist problem went away in 2 weeks, i was stretching alot.

i'm going to try this with my shoulder, doing exercise that doesn't hurt.

I just did a couple of sets of Db shoulder press with out pain (only 7.5kg) it felt reallly goood !
