Not having the death penalty is one thing... but how do they not give this guy LIFE without the possibility of parole???

Does he want to die? If yes, then keep him alive in a hole, feed him bread and water, allow him no sunlight and no human contact.
Does he want to live? Then kill him. While torturing him may seem like a harsher punishment, I am of the mind that every second he lives would be too much of a gift.
Does he want to be heard? Then cut out his tongue.

This kind of thing is horrendous. Never mind the rationale behind it; it is just horrible. At first, I heard it had something to do with Islamic fundamentalism. Incorrect; this man--I hesitate in calling him such--is a self-righteous deluded psychopath who "made his statement to the world" by killing 80-plus people--young people for the most part--in cold blood.

We can all say Norway's laws are too lenient and FWIW, I think so, too. But that is Norway. It is not the USA. They are the ones who have to deal with the fallout of this disaster, not any other nationality. This murderer should be punished to the full extent of their laws. Granted, 21 years maximum sentence is not nearly enough, nor is the fact that he could go free in less than that. But it is what it is. I just feel sorry for the families who have lost their loved ones.

Nah...i say let the parents have at him in turns on a daily basis. 80 kids, probably atleast 90 people (probably a handful of single parent homes). Put a helmet on him so they can't just straight out cave his skull to cut the fun short, put him in a room chained to a chair, hand them ball bats at the door. When they get done, schedule their next visit on the way out.

Police will tell you that when something like this happens, the usual nutcase groups come out and claim responsibility. It's at the least a way to get their name on the news.
