Result: Supplement with omega-3 increased proteinsynthesis, they also tested with cornoil which did not gave the same positive result.

Conclusion: Omega-3 affects the proteinsynthesis positively on elderly people and is suited to prevent the effect that you get worse response on strength training and protein intake when you get older.

Result: Omega-3 affects proteinsynthesis positively on youth, middle-aged women and men.

There's some interesting science for you :-) I do not supplement with 10grams of Omega-3 though (like they did in the second study), but it sure is a quality oil which SHOULD be included into your daily diet, especially if you're low on fish.

Edit: Err, can't post links yet.. anyway, search for:
Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids augment the muscle protein anabolic response to hyperaminoacidemia-hyperinsulinemia in healthy young and middle aged men and women.

    and

Dietary omega-3 fatty acid supplementation increases the rate of muscle protein synthesis in older adults.

omega 3 are one of the best supplements out there!
5 times a day i supplement with them when cutting and bulking, 1 hour after a meal and training and before bed and when i wake up, really sorts out your insulin levels to not gain too much weight when bulking and to make sure your using up fat stores when cutting
