    this.

but over time we generally suppress the gland that creates melatonin because we tend to stay up past the normal hour in which our body wants to sleep, so it can help for a while but i wouldnt stay on it too long.

Does it affect normal secretion after a while if you're taking supplement melatonin? Since I heard Testosterone levels (normal secretion) go down if you take steroids. I don't want that to happen to me with my melatonin levels. I am always awake till like 3 in the morning.

what would happen if you stopped taking it.. I know it might be harder to fall asleep for a while, but do you eventually produce your own melatonin just like normal?

You are using a synthetic chemical to mimic the function of and repress the creation of actual melatonin in your body. Melatonin is responsible for WAY more than getting you to sleep - it is essentially the hormone responsible for the regulation of all other hormones in your body. Only use it once in a while when you REALLY need sleep.

you can buy regimens over the counter that include melatonin. I don't because it stops working and wakes me up early or even keeps me up later. In fact, I try not use more than twice a week. And I usually break 3mg pills in half.

been using it for a few months now, used to take it with ZMA but the ZMA gives me nightmares so now I just take melatonin. 3mg every night usually out within 15 minutes of taking it.

I figure even if it does have side effects its safer than not sleeping and way safer than ambien
