A nice part of the bar is what is not included in the ingredients:
Promax bars contain NO GLUTEN.
Promax Bars are certified Gluten-Free by the GFCO (Gluten-Free Certifying Organization). Strict standards have been set in the manufacturing facility to ensure no cross-contamination of surfaces, ingredients or finished products.
Promax bars contain NO MALTITOL.
Maltitol is a sugar alcohol that is used as a sugar substitute in many bars which can cause gastrointestinal discomfort. Additionally, some forms of maltitol have been shown to have a high glycemic index equivalent to honey and only one less calorie per gram than sugar.
Promax bars contain NO GELATIN.
Gelatin, typically made from the byproducts of the meat and leather industries, is an incomplete protein source. It lacks the amino acid, tryptophan, and contains only a small amount of methionine. Because of this, gelatin cannot be used as efficiently by your body as a complete protein such as whey or soy.
The Peanut Butter Crisp bars have 350 calories with 13g of fat and 37g of carbs
The Triple Chocolate Crisp bars have 330 calories with 10g of fat and 40 g of carbs
The package suggest consumption of these bars pre or post workout or as a meal replacement. I have had 2 so far, 1 as a meal replacement and the other post workout.
Taste:
I absolutely loved the Peanut Butter Crisp. It is just awesome and right my alley. Extremely enjoyable taste and consistency, I can see eating these bars on a near every day basis if you have room in your macros.
I did not love the Triple Chocolate Crisp. I did not hate it, but it is not my thing taste wise.
Overall Impression:
The bars are packed full of protein with no artificial sweeteners. The Peanut Butter Crisp are in my opinion some of the best tasting protein bars I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. As a meal replacement they did the job for me, I was satisfied after a bar ad not looking for more food. These bars are not cheap at $29.98 for 12 bars but you are paying for what you are getting for here, a solid clean source of protein and carbs that help you hit your nutritional goals.
