    Misc. Why can't I go below 230 pounds?

    I've been losing weight since I was about 270+


    I've been "cutting" since I was 247



    But.. whenever I reach 230 I'm like "Yesss from next week I will be in the 220's"

    But then I go back up to 232


    Next week back to 230


    then 232...



    Have no idea why.



    Then one week I starved myself at 232 and thought I HAD to lose weight.. even if it was water/muscle but ..still... 230

    after the starve week I went to 236 ish


    but... 230 agina




    why can't I go below 230? am I intolerant to something?

    Post your diet. Might need to be adjusted. Also have you tried IF? Leangains.com FTW. Sometimes a slight change in diet routine is all you need to start seeing some changes. Working for me as I was stuck at 200(down from 261) for the longest time. Now steadily dropping the pounds.

    I need to be 190 to be in "normal" weight. Right now I'm over weight.

    Seems really low for your weight. I cut with ~2000 cals and weigh 175-180. Another important question is what are your macros? (p/f/c)

    Before I kept a count of Macros and made sure I got 1 gram per pound of my weight of protein but I've gotten tired of that and I keep a rough estimate.


    I do note down what I've had during the day, look at it at night to see if it was correct and that's it.




    The calories might be low for some people but if I have 2500 or 3000 I really don't lose ANY weight. srs.

    BMI is for fat ladies. You should be measuring body fat. If we went by BMI, every bodybuilder, powerlifter and most other athletes would be classified as obese to morbidly obese.

    Well I personally think counting macro's is better.

    example diet (macro wise)

    1g/protein per lb of lbm (lean body mass). So if you are 230 lbs and are at 25% bf your lbm is 173 lbs.

    80-100g/fat.

    Fill the rest of your cals with carbs.

    so 173g/protein x 4cal/g = 692 cals from protein
    80g/fat x 9cal/g = 720 cals from fat

    692+720=1412 cals from fats & protein.

    2000 - 1412 = 588 remaining cals

    588/4 (4 cals per g/carbs) = 147g/carbs

    macros for the day = (f/c/p) 80/147/175

    If you aren't losing weight, just give it some time and cut out a little more calories. Your body has to adjust.

    Well 2000 should result in a good deficit unless you just sit on the misc all day, but maybe you can try more around the 1800 area and report back. Also hope you're measuring waist, hips, thighs etc. just to check if there's any interaction with muscle and water weight

    I'll have to do that it seems. I'm giong to start from "the beggining" and count my macros again...
    .... It's really frustrating because most the foods I eat aren't listed on calories charts so I have to eat simple food with labels on it. Thanks for the help though!
