    Do any liquids count as cheating during IF?

    Just wondering any liquids ae considered cheats during.the.fasting.period? i was going to stick to water with mio additive for flavor and iced coffee using skim milk and splenda (100 cals) or so.
    Also, the IF i read on leangains.com speaks of eating 15% cals in the morning or so with most % at night but im seeing most people on here skipping just about everything.after their late meal til lunch if not later.....is that15% cal cut that beneficial?

    Off the top of my head I beleive he says somewhere on his site that drinks need to be 20 calories or less.

    Ok good to know. Assuming apples and other fruits would be ok to fill any void during that time if absolutely necessary

    From what I've read, and I still have some reading to do, it's best to not have anything during the fast. If you want to do a true fast, you need to have 0 calories for the 16 hr. period, or whichever variation you have chosen. For my 16 hr. fast, I tough it out and have absolutely nothing. If I'm gonna do it, I wanna do it all out. Like I said though, I'm still researching. Good luck with your IF plan.

    I remember the article mentioning a cup of black coffee is fine during the fast but nothing more than that.

    I think Martin himself said science isn't entirely certain what calorie amount breaks the fast, whether its 1 calorie or 50-100 calories. I think his recommendation was to keep coffee creamers and artificial sweetner drinks to under 50 calories.
