For maximum absorption and bio-availability would injecting, say, B12 be a better option? Pros & Cons of both?

Am I remembering correctly that B12 injectables are only done once a month at a DV of like 75,000% per injection?

Ive heard people talk about it, when theyre extremely deficient and I couldnt understand how that much could be injected once a month and have a positive effect. Unless it gets stored in the body instead of excreted. Wish I could be more help but Im kinda curious about the subject too.

I had a deficiency while using some decent multis (Opti-men, OT, Animal Pak) B12 in specific
injectable ended my deficiency, it's much better they do not compare

The injectible b12 is cyanocobalamin, which is the improper form.

i used "Methycobal" .. it's B12 alone
first thing was 1 injection day in day out, it has 50microgram of B12.. then 1 injection every week
but i recommend you get ur B12 levels checked to get a better answer about how much you really need

b12 should absolutely be injected. I have a b12 deficiency myself due to lack of intrinsic factor

How do you know if you are deficient? Can this be found looking at typical bloodwork?

Methylcobalamin is what you want for injection.
There's a variety of reasons to use an injection - pernicious anemia is one, there are others. For some people, they can't absorb B12 via the oral route, for them, injected B12 is a lifesaver.
The body needs B12, nerve damage occurs with prolonged deficiency.
My wife does it regularly - 25mg injected (25mg/1mL) sub-cutaneous. You can use an insulin needle (28g 1/2") and it doesn't hurt.
We get ours compounded by a local compounding pharmacy, and it is preservative-free. It's not terribly expensive, and if you keep it refrigerated, it will last a while.
Extra B12 is excreted - so don't be alarmed if you have pink piss.My Workout Journal:

Is Methylcobalamin the better form of B12 then Cyanocobalamin? What are the differences? Will buy tablets not injectables
