Where are all my bikini ladies at?! I am going to do a comp. in the bikini class in 20 weeks and am going to start training next week. I want to give myself plenty of time so I'm not rushing and crash dieting. I am going to take it slow and steady I don't see many people competing in bikini though and I know there are some out there!!

And why not? It requires less drastic dieting and prep work to still get up there and show your hard work and win something. Bikini will far surpass figure.

And why not? It requires very little dieting and prep work to still get up there and win something. Bikini will far surpass figure.
fixed that for you. bikini division has its place, but im still not convinced its at a bodybuilding and figure show. still just feels to me like a not-quite-figure-division

Hey girl! I'm with you. I'm 10 weeks out from my second competition. I did ok in the first one but would like to do much better in this one. I was a little clueless the first time around. Let me know how your training and diet are going

Agreed. Much like men's physique, I can appreciate that they put some work in at the gym and follow a diet to get ready for a contest. However, I don't really know if it's what I consider to be bodybuilding.

That said, best of luck to the OP.
Men competing in physique work infinitely harder than MOST of the bikini competitors.
It's basically pre-steroid old school bodybuilding, similar physique to Steve Reeves, John Grimeck etc.
But I relaxed about bikini, let it be. Men like it, it attracts more audience, why not.

its true.. your right.. Bikini girls have less muscle and more curves.. its a little more mainstream... Thats really why female bodybuilding is dying out.. kinda sad.. just like fitness is slowly dying or died out..

This is so sad
Why don't I have gymnastics background?
I'd rather do fitness than figure. It's beautiful beyond belief.
I have nothing but huge respect for the figure girls, but working out, dieting down and doing quarter turns is one thing. Doing an acrobatic routine, splits, one arm push-ups, planche pushups (!!! - one day) while being at low bodyfat, depleted is just beyond admirable.
My original intention was to do Bikini only but now that I am losing body fat, I am seeing that my muscles are looking more and more toned. I am thinking about doing Figure at some point, I just figured Bikini would be more realistic and not so hard on my body. (Because I have to do a comp. by the end of this year, personal goal) I have been seriously considering doing one Bikini then switching to Figure, I am starting to love the way I look with muscle definition! I am starting my training today so I guess we will see how it goes!

LOL, no.....that's Natural Bodybuilding. Physique division has no posing, no emphasis on having a good v taper, can still use steroids but "not too much" because you're going for a different look, etc. Often involes props in organisations like the WBFF and UFE to show your "personality" which IMHO go completely opposite of the fundementals of bodybuilding which should be 100% about the physique. Apples and oranges IMHO.
EDIT: YES, as you can probably tell, I really HATE the physique class. lol I respect anyone that competes but I don't consider a men's "physique" or a bikini competitor to be in the same class as a bodybuilder or figure competitor. Sorry, but that's just my opinion.
