I've got relatives like that, some weird branch of Christianity. We (myself and parents - atheists, but not jerks) used to think it was out duty to forgo everything that was important to us at holidays, good roast, nice wine, etc. to make them happy. Most of the time the kids are not even hungry, or crying-many of these women just do it for the sake of it. I was joking about the bit with the milk & lactose, but seriously I have encountered so many women over the years in various places that just start breastfeeding in front of everybody else-even when the kid is making no noise & seems contented. No doubt with many women it is a form of exhibitionism.
