Alright so Monday I did my upper day. My shoulders were damn sore Tuesday and yesterday. But yesterday I popped my shoulder. It's normal for me, pops all the time. Like if you were to pop your finger. Anyway this time when I popped it, it kind of felt different. Almost like something had moved? About 5 mins later it started hurting like hell. Can move my arm and all so I don't think it's too serious. Probably a 5/10 if I had to rate the pain. Anyone have any ideas? And what to do? I appreciate any help.
Arrow is where I feel the pain. This happened about 12 hours ago and since has begun to feel slightly better. Will measly rep for answers!

I don't know how to help but I have pretty much the same thing, didn't pop but my left shoulder hurts in that exact spot, messed it up on bench last Friday and taking the week off to heal but every night while I sleep I end up rolling onto it and when I wake up it hurts just like the day before, ugh all day I just lay in bed with a ice pack and it gets better then sleep and wake up and its back to how it was the day before, can anyone help? I'll rep to if you help find a way to heal it up faster.

Can you internally rotate against resistance?
Any pain on elbow flexion (biceps contraction)? Are the biceps still symmetric (left and right)?
Can you raise your arm out to your side without shrugging your shoulder?
Does it hurt if you [forward] flex at the shoulder? That is, lift your hand straight out in front of you, palms up or down?
Does it hurt to the touch? Any bruising/swelling?
Any history of dislocations or problems with the labrum?
Personally, whatever it is, I'd rest it, ice it, and proceed very carefully. If it is not significantly improved within a week I would have a doctor take a look at it and go through the usual battery of tests to narrow down the possibilities.

Sounds like you still have basic functionality (no massive tearing) which is obviously good and you're improving quickly, also a good sign. It almost sounds like a mildly subluxated LHB tendon, maybe with some relation to a subscapularis issue, but that is a complete and amateur guess so don't take it for anything more than wild speculation. Like I said, I go easy on it for a while and if you are improving continuously then stay the course, if not then see someone. Don't let it drag out for more than a few weeks.
If all is well after a few weeks I would start to follow some of the advice in the sticky here on rotator cuff/shoulder strengthening AND flexibility.2 + 2 = 5 (for extremely large values of 2)

You know, I think that may be why my arm/shoulder is always popping. Maybe?
That self test thing on that site said possibly subacromial impingement. If it is one of those things can it just be taken care of with some rest?
But it is deload week this week so going to take it easy anyway. And I will read that sticky all the way through, read some yesterday. Thanks again, on r/c and will measly rep you soon."A man who wants something will find a way; a man who doesnt will find an excuse."

Maybe, but I'm going to go with unlikely. I do know a couple of people who have stretched the transverse ligament that keeps the LHB tendon in its groove and they complain of deep "clunking" sometimes. You can, however, get that for a lot of reasons, the most common being some type of laxity and/or labrum damage (I think).

Got you back.
Today I worked out but only did about half the weight of what I'd normally do, and only 1 set of 15-20 reps. It seemed to help some. Maybe give it a try for a week or so after your shoulder feels up to it."A man who wants something will find a way; a man who doesnt will find an excuse."

I wouldn't read too much into the exact location of pain. Short of palpable pain right at the bicipital or intertubercular groove (about the front of the shoulder slightly outward from the pit) which is common with bicipital tendonitis it seems that shoulder pain is often nonspecific to any one identifiable condition. The most common complaint in all the stuff I've read is diffuse pain on the top of the shoulder sometimes radiating down the arm between the biceps and triceps. Specific pain under certain active and passive movements is more indicative of a specific problem and this is where an in-personal clinical exam by a doctor will be worth its cost. Give it rest. Ice it. Take a hearty regimen of ibuprofen or naproxen for a week or so and see where you are. If things aren't improving go have it checked out.

worked out yesterday with same weight as I did for the week before I took the week off and had a little trouble with bench but kept my form tight and still got my 5 reps I wanted (whole body shaking the way up lol) but before the workout the shoulder bothered me a little and today it feels much better, not all the way healed but hurts about half as much as it did, I read that with some good reps nutrient rich blood rushes to the area and that heals a lot of wounds, so I'm guessing it must be that, hope yours is doing better am1991

I wouldn't get too caught up in where the pain is as almost everyone with any sort of shoulder issue ends up hurting right where you describe. Mine kills on the top, rear, front, and sometimes in the armpit. Sometimes all at the same time, sometimes one or two places depending on which way I move.
