I've been training since I joined the forums. My weight is very volatile, but I've decided to lean down to make my first appearance on stage (-150 lbs).
So, I've searched the forums to find what items are essential to bring to a bb competition, and I would like to make my checklist of the items I will acquire before September.
Three things for an excellent tan, are they all necessary?
Pro Tan: Instant Color
Pro Tan: Muscle Juice Pro Posing Oil
While reading pro-tan's website, I found that they recommend, Get Buffed® Pre-Tan exfoliator prior to applying Pro Tan Instant Color (this item is not available on bb.com). Are these 3 items necessary, or is the exfoliator optional? I'm asking this since there are not many exfoliator products on bb.com
The most important pieces:
the posing trunks
my routine music
Miscellaneous but definitely important:
raw food
protein bars
towel
slippers
camera!
did I forgot something?
Here is a video of my possible adversaries I recorded during last year, Mr. Laredo competition. (I was running my first bulk and not ready to compete)

Ditch the posing oil and go for a bronzer. Pro Tan + Oil won't get you dark enough, and the bronzer should already have oil in it. A lot of people around here recommend Dream Tan. Wish I had done that for my show.
Also, I think it's always a good idea to have two sets of trunks. I ended up buying two different sizes (medium and large) since I didn't know how far I would diet down. I ended up closer to the mediums but kept the larges around in case of an emergency...plus now I have something to grow into.

Ok, I've been reading the forums competition posts on tanning, and it seems pro tan needs multiple days to apply + oil on competition day.
Dream tan can be applied on competition day and does not need oil
and finally, for the best results, use pro tan days before competition, and dream tan 2 hours before entering on stage.
