People get motivated by different things. For some people fear f*cks with their head and it makes them worse because of it. For some people fear drives them and actually helps them. I think GSP is in that weird group where fear brings out the best in him.
Of course that best isn't what most people like to see in a fight.

He just faced Thiago Alves not too long ago and destroyed him everywhere. He used his takedowns to pick him apart on the feet and his striking to set up his takedowns. GSP would do the same with Silva. GSP pretty much mirror's Sonnen's explosive/relentless takedown style.

GSP takes people down by shooting a double leg from across the octagon. This whole he sets up his takedowns with strikes group is simply not the reality. Yeah, he does sometimes, but the reason he gets everyone down is because he has the sickest double leg in MMA and good takedowns all around. Considering virtually every fighter Silva has fought has managed to get him to the ground, to think GSP couldn't is laughable.

GSP shooting for a double leg from across the octagon without setting it up against A. Silva... not going to happen. You mention GSP has the sickest double leg TD but ignore the fact that Silva has very good timing and accuracy with his strikes. GSP knows this, which is why this fight will probably never happen.

#1 Check out Alves face after the fight. Also, "destroyed" doesn't just mean TKO'd or KO. Shutting down a fighter in every aspect of the game is just as good as KOing someone. Some guys are just naturally tough and won't get knocked out. GSP "destroyed" both Fitch and Thiago in every aspect of MMA x10. Its not his fault that they are tough as fck.
#2, you didn't say "Anderson Silva", you said he hasn't faced any great strikers lately. Check your own quote below.
Pretty sure Thiago is the best striker that the Welterweight division has to offer (exception of Nick Diaz maybe). Alves has faught in Muay Thai comps before and is actually a champ I believe, so the guy actually has a pedigree.
Could Anderson win in a fight with GSP? Maybe. Could GSP win? Maybe. Its pretty much 50/50. GSP has the style to beat Anderson. Every great wrestler Silva has faced (Henderson, Sonnen, even Okami) has taken him down. How is GSP any less skilled than any of those guys? I hate when people say "absolutes in MMA or "just because Serra outstruck him, Anderson will too..." Probably the same guys saying Tito was going to get destroyed on Saturday.
Have you even watched any of GSP's fights?1 Stripe Blue Belt, Gracie Barra BJJ (Reps to BJJ/MMA brahs)

Having a brusied/bloodied face != "destroyed" .. Thiago wasn't hurt and he walked away from the fight just fine.
Thiago Alves is a good striker, he's not great. Rick Story was out striking him for god's sakes.
I lol every time someone brings this up. "the style" to beat anderson is the style anderson has overcome every time he's faced it... He made short work of Hendo the olympic wrestler and subbed Sonnen.
GSP isn't as big or strong as either of those guys.
His chin isn't nearly as good as either of those guys.
GSP would be undersized, outreached and easily defeated. 50/50 my ass.RIP Anderson Silva - GOAT of MMA.

If this is in reference to the possibility of Anderson throwing a knee or other strike to counter a takedown, remember that he hasn't successfully done anything like that since Newton took the world's worst penetration step back in 2003...
In other news, no sh*t Hughes is picking the guy who beat his ass twice."The sun is always gonna rise, and always gonna set and I'll just keep on punching because everyday is gonna bring something different and I just want to be ready for it."

If you refer to a fighter who you've never met in real life as "my boy" as though their performance somehow reflects well on you for simply being a fan, you're a lame ass.

again im disgusted with everybody counting diaz out
hughes said diaz does not have better jitz than gsp?... striking?.... more like only thing gsp has over diaz is wrestling
gsp can dominate diaz but cant do it to silva??.. why is that?... both guys suck in tkd & gsp has said he has no problem taking 185 & 205lb guys down so dont see how the size diff matters when gsp is like 200lbs now + he would be bigger if he moved up...
again... WAR DIAZ!!

Has he had anyone so scared of striking they were dumb enough to shoot without trying to set it up with something? Only person I can think of who attempted it was Maia and he didn't even come close to scoring a TD.
Lots of GSP/Sonnen comparisons... GSP is more talented than Sonnen but he isn't as aggressive. What good is GSP's better striking if he doesn't have a better heart? If GSP is scared of striking with Dan Hardy he wont dream of striking with Silva.R135
