What up Aussie brah? I wanted to help you out with your trip to AZ. Mill Avenue is the epicenter for ASU. It is a ~.5 km long street loaded with bars, sloots, and restaurants. This is where most of the college kids are. About 10 minutes(driving) to the north is Old town. Old Town is a longer strip ~1.5km with more bars and restaurants. I would have to guess that the ages range from 21-30+. If you had to stay at one place I would suggest finding somewhere to stay in Old Town. The good news is that both of these locations are about 10-15 minutes away from the airport.
The only problem that I see is that of transportation. We do have buses, but they are crappy. Not sure what your financial situation is, but it would make things a lot easier if you can rent a car. If you get a car you can drive 25 min north to the gun range. 3-4 hour drive will take you to the Grand Canyon.

This. Even though I agree with what all these guys are saying about mill/old town, the reality is I wouldn't suggest AZ for a major tourist destination. If you're coming all the way over from Aussieland, I would suggest going somewhere more unique/interesting than Arizona.

thanks brah reps on rc
as for these two, i would have already been to the 'touristy' places by then. the last 4 weeks will most likely be texas, az, maybe new mexico, and possibly a little room for a place we loved and want to go back to from the 1st 4 weeks. any recommendations in your guys experience would be appreciated!Glorious PC master race

Grew up in the PNW and unless you are into skiing then the best time to be there is over, its getting cold and wet now. The summers are AMAZING but now its just kinda depressing.
I think AZ has some fun places to check out but I tend to agree if your coming from Australia then it might be best to just spend a few days. You never wont know what you cant achieve until you dont achieve it.

Very strong list! Mirin' your itinerary. Like someone else said, would check out the PNW, preferably Seattle, although weather might be sht. I liked visiting DC as well, although it may not hold the same appeal to you as a non-American.
As for AZ, the Sedona suggestion was a good one, and maybe you could work in the Grand Canyon as well. Yes, touristy as fuark. But still pretty impressive to see in person.Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.

Which island you heading to?
If it's Oahu then hit me up with a PM and I can tell you what's good to see out there, moved from there to AZ just over a month ago.
When's the weather gonna start being consistently colder?
It's only been semi-cold breezes like a day out of the week. It'd be nice to have that everyday since I bike to work.XBox 360 GT: BluePenance

Story and pro-tip: Took my mom to Lux & Pane Bianco in central phx, now she is pretty much convinced this is the greatest city on earth. Srs, she's been pink-knighting me on txt ever since.
Lunch-date a girl there for maximum gains.
e: also strong lunch place is Cibo. Sandwich & salad for $8 last I was there.

I'm getting pretty sick and tired of 24 Hour Fitness' 45 plates. They make deadlift (obviously favorite day) annoying as **** because the plates don't in place when you're pulling and most of the time you have to reset and realign the bar so you're not pulling crooked.
What other 24 hour gyms out there in Phoenix are decent and somewhat affordable. Thinking of making the switch to Liftetime, but the price tag for me (student) is a little steep. I pay 26.99 at the moment.
Anything with bumper plates and/or a lot of squat racks?
Maybe just man up and keep doing my thing.☆ Deadlift Junkie ☆
