Hey y'all, still bumping around trying to figure out nutrition and such things, so you know that one gram of protein per pound of bodyweight? Well, I weigh 217 right now. If you were to go for lean body mass, that would be about 185.
So... How the heck can I ingest (at minimum) 185 grams of protein, if you can only handle a max of 20 grams per meal, over 7 meals?
Im beginning to come to the conclusion that I can't make my protein requirements, based on the articles I have read here...

i tried a an offseason with less protein and more carbs, but my body seemed to no react well to that...got puffy n soft....so i upped the protein, and started to carb cycle. made a BIGGGG difference. my fat intake is pretty solid. 135-185g per day (depending on my carb intake of that day).

What? On my work out days I take in 3000~ calories and I cannot eat more than 2 primarily protein sources. For example today's macros: (P/F/C)
Pre WO:
Cottage Cheese + FF strawberry yogurt + Banana = 52/5/61
Post WO:
Proats made with 1 scoop XF LCP, 400ml 2% milk, 80g oats, 3 whole eggs: 62/41/72
Then I binge on carbs like no tomorrow and I still end up with 157/71/432
EDIT:
Not to attack your macro choices but I'd argue when consuming 500g+ protein the greatly skewed TEF would result in significantly less calories available for metabolism. I've actually started calorie/carb cycling myself recently and have found there's definitely benefits in terms of keeping my appetite/sanity in check. Guess some of us need structured periods of over/under feeding to feel normal :PLast edited by adean1989; 07-01-2011 at 11:49 AM.

nah man. i hear it all the time. no biggy it just works for me. maybe not for many others, but it does for me. bold is VERY true. for me, a 4500 cal day is pretty easy, but when i do a 5300+ day, it becomes HARD WORK. but i look and feel better the next day. i try to tell some ppl to do that in their offseason at times, so that they can keep their bodyfat in check, and hold a decent condition till they start prepping for a contest again.
