A stupid question thread, just what i needed.

In the SS FAQ sticky, they say that the regular bar is 10kg (or 22 lbs)
So when i'm measuring my max bench, i did 100 pounds x1, 50/50 on each side. which is technically 122 pounds.

So technically my max bench is EDIT: 122 pounds?

yeah, but a regular bar is 44 lbs, however there are some that are lighter weight.

This x2. If your bar weighs 22lbs and you have another 100lbs worth of plates, then that'll come out to 122lbs

Also, as Marc936 has pointed out, regular bars (olympic bars) weigh approximately 20kg or around 45lbs. It sounds like you have a standard (non-olympic) bar.

Babylover advocates that you lift more frequently, 3x a week minimum. So if your body is up for it, you workout. The workouts are this
    The two days:
    A
    Squat 3x5
    Bench 3x5
Chins 15-20 total reps, add weight or use assisted.
    Rows 3x5 SUPER STRICT.
Optional: Cable rows, 3x8 bicep work, 3x8 rear delt flyes, do this at your own discretion. If you don't feel like it, don't worry

    B
    Front squat 3x5
    MP 3x5
    Deadlifts 1x5
Optional: 15-20 reps of dips, 3x8 tricep work
You alternate workout every time you go.

SS on the other hand mentions you workout 3x a week, all compound lifts. Babylovers mentions to do some other workouts to help benefit your smaller muscle groups. Personally I'm more of a fan of stronglifts, but either 3 is a good starting program

Work out your forearms more. It will bring up the veins. Try to look in a better lighting. I used to think that there are no veins on my lower forearms or sideways, but actually I do.

And I'm sure you need to have a lower bodyfat.

What is Madcows 5x5, only a way to do your exercies? Like 5 sets of 5 reps per exercice?
If yes, it works on every muslce?

Also it's easier to keep a hook grip because if your over hand starts to slip, your under hand is still there to catch it.

I'm bulking on 3k calories with this 5 day split:

    Legs
    Chest
    Back
    Arms
    Shoulders

Can anyone suggest a better routine for gains? (not ss please)

You can work your forearms out more, but vascularity has to do mostly with body fat %. Don't worry about it if you're on a bulk, they will come in during your cut.

Madcows is a strength program created by Bill Starr. It is a great program, just do Madcows 5x5 and eat a lot.

But seriously, yes it's a great strength program, it's a little more advanced than SS.

You're bulking? Try Madcows 5x5, srs, SS (why no SS? It works.) Or try 5/3/1.

Well, all strength programs are going to ask you to eat a large surplus. You can still eat over maintenance and do any of those programs though.

5/3/1 is nice but starts of slow so I would not advice it untill you have trained for a year or so.

Of course. It's a good idea to do cardio 2-3x a week, even while bulking to be honest. However, depending on your goals you need to adjust your caloric intake to compensate.

Yup. Helps you develop a healthy heart, and speeds up recovery. But like SH said, you may have to adjust your caloric intake.

You need a good base to build your body on, I'd say it's almost mandatory to do cardio. But 90% of this forum would disagree

During the school year, My schedule is block. Which means I have 4 periods a day. Odd days (periods 1,3,5,7) and Even days (periods 2,4,6,8). I will have weight training one of these days.

but its set up so that one week I'll lift 3x a week, the next only 2x. I may lift outside of school. But whats a good routine I could do that involves a rest day between each workout? 3 day split? like chest/tri, back/bi, legs/shoulders?

ECA works, but it's not magic pill. Many people that use it with results state they can do it with it or without it.

    and x2 on this.

IMO, fat burners are not necessary. I'd rather put that money towards some more high protein food or whey supps, multis, fish oil or perhaps towards a new or extended gym membership?
Eating below maintenance by about 200-400cals whilst increasing your protein intake slightly, will assist in weight loss.

    Hope this helps
