    Permanatly changing your eating habits.

Started cutting over a month ago, and after 4+ weeks of eating vegetables and grilled meat, I'm growing to kinda like this sh!t.... I mean, not buying bread has been pretty cool. I'm thinking of never buying another loaf of bread til death (srs)

    brb, rice/potatoes...

after I get cut to the level I want, I will definitely not hesitate to go out and eat a hot dog at a BBQ, or pound down a few beers on saturday night, but as far as eating fast food, I think once a week will be enough.

    thoughts? anyone ever do this?

first of all, props for changing your diet brah, you made a great decision. but remember that having hot dogs, cookies, junk is OKAY as long as it's in moderation and you keep exercising.
The PROBLEM is people will sit down with a bag of chips or box of cookies and mindlessly munch on them and watch tv and before they know it they've eaten the whole bag. Whereas what they should have done was cooked a meal or eaten something nutritious such as eggs/meats/veggies and then taken a small bowl of chips on the side as desert.

second, I lold at "thoughts? anyone ever do this?"
what you are doing now is what should be considered NORMAL. but unfortunately too many people have such retardedly poor eating habits, todays normal has become ****.

I know that feel bro, just switched my diet a little while ago. I was probably only getting 80g protein/day for the last 2-3 years, no wonder my gains sucked balls, eating like crap.

Now I'm eating grain-free except post-workout, and I find I have completely lost taste for added sugar (used to have 1-2 sodas a day + sugar in tea/coffee regularly), and I no longer miss grains. In fact sometimes after a cheat meal I don't want to eat any grains for days. Not keto though, I'll have either grains or a sweet potato post-workout (leaning more towards sweet potatoes and other tubers lately).

Nowadays I can come home to a nice coconut curry meal and be happy as fukk.

Vegetables + berries + fatty cuts of chicken + fish + plenty of healthy fats (coconut milk, butter, ghee, olive oil) FTW

Finally getting 180-190g protein/day, this should finally be a good year.

it's not "bad", it's just an excess of calories that you can deliver your body in better ways, like potatoes or rice, I would still have a sandwich at Jimmy Johns, but avoid the bread aisle at the grocery store....

It is in fact easier to completely eliminate them than to reduce your consumption. After the first week or so of not eating them (which is admittedly hard), your body stabilizes and you no longer desire them except very rarely.

I have 2 high carbs and 5 days of low/no carbs a week. I allow myself one of those high carb days to slack on my diet since its after my hardest workout. 80% of the time I end up eating completely clean on that day because I love potatoes/kashi/other health food and would rather just eat more of those than a few donuts and pizza.

Funny thing about eating clean/not clean is if I start slacking a few days in a row then it takes a lot of motivation to get back into it.

i did it (meat...all kinds, not just lean, vegetables, some fruit, nuts and good oils) a rough version of paleo

i lost 10 lb. in 4 weeks not even trying...i like it because as long as you stay in that realm, you don't have to count, weigh or measure.

i had no dairy, no grains, no potatoes....

you can eat like that on vacation, going out as well, really easy
    20+, you better ask somebody....

strong this. At my heaviest i honestly felt addicted to food, not just like damn that cake would taste good but like i need the whole bag of chips. I would go on diets and just count calories but still honestly ate like ****. This results in when you do cheat you want to keep cheating, and since i really didnt change anything just ate less of everything constantly felt deprived diets would end before i reached my goal weight.

Alls it takes really is a few days of no candy/chips and i dont even want them especially if i dont keep them around. Chicken and steak and corn taste good to me now and it feels amazing actually being able to control what i put in my mouth for the first time in my life. And when i do cheat on special occasions i dont feel like **** about myself. I understand IIFYM and everything and know it can be the same thing physically but not psychologically for me at least.

also a lot of my carbs are from (whole grain usually) bread. What are the advantages of the sweet potatoes and other things you were talking about?

GJDM, currently doing VD to reset myself. Been doing it roughly over a week now. This is my second week, but I had a pretty rough weekend and cheated a bit too much so I basically had to restart. I had a really hard time coming to where I am now, but I'm just going to keep pushing forward until I reach that point that I'm no longer wanting to eat crap all the time. None the less eating out once in a while will be fine, but not everyday like I'm used to.
