Not really, yesterday I did my daily morning cardio, and leg day at the gym and I synced it at 8pm and was at 3200 cals burned. Pretty normal calorie burned for me. 3500-3700 by the days end

    Cool

Decided to join the body media fit family on the weekend and ordered the bmf + the watch display. Got it today and put it on this arvo. For sum reason it started my calorie burn @ 1695, so I guess it guesstimated the first part of the day for me. Can't wait for the end of the first week to see wat my avg daily burn is.

About 75 per hour here. Possibly less, seeing as how I'm currently bulking by eating whatever the BMF says I burn each day.
Think you can, think you can't - doesn't matter. Either way, you're right.

I'm calling tech support. Same sh*t yesterday, and I really needed to see my calorie expenditure. It just stops recording at 9AM and when I plug it in it asks me what I've been doing for the last 15 hours...

It makes two consecutive series of beeps when I put it on, one right after the other, both of them in ascending tone. If I take it off, it makes a series of beeps in descending tone. So it seems like it's properly detecting when I put it on and take it off. Yet, at the end of the day I have no data.

My humble opinion is that it has been worth every single penny. I think its definitely within the advertised 90%+ accuracy. Where most people get shaky it seems is their water weight fluctuations etc. My BMF has given me seemingly very accurate info on what my calorie burn looks like on my standard days. Its also taught me the importance of being active in general when looking for a higher calorie burn (I like to eat!).

The sad reality that Ive found is how different my cardio days are vs lifting days. For example, yesterday was a cardio day with some ab work (rest day) and by noon I was 300 calories further along than I was today at noon...and today I did weighted chins, leg press, some bi work, and a heavy deadlift series that barely left me able to walk out of the gym. Today felt 10x more challenging than yesterday, but all things being equal I burned several hundred more cals yesterday. Granted though...todays cals will go towards a much better purpose!

The BMF isnt going to change your life, it wont increase your lifts, and it wont get you more sleep at night. What it will do is give you a great idea of your calorie burn on varying days of activity etc. and allow you to confidently eat within a narrower window of accuracy to your maintenance. Use that knowledge, train hard, and keep your diet in check using the info you have and it should be a recipe for success. In regards to the OCD type, I am certainly one of them and I have found the BMF actually allows me to relax more by removing much of the mystery out of my diet. It sets a specific bar that is far less easy to question than my old method of "Im pretty sure Im around maintenance."

    YMMV.

Does anybody's arm feel discomfort/pain when wearing this thing? Sometimes it gives me a weird and unpleasant feeling in my tricep, and sometimes it's to the point I have to take the thing off.

To measure your Galvanic Skin Response (GSR), it sends a small current through the body from one sensor to the other (to find out the electrical conductance of your skin, which increases with arousal). It should be around 0.5 volts. This is one of the most crucial sensors, I'm sure...but I'm not a fan of a small electrical current going through my tricep. I can feel it, and I'm not so sure it's completely harmless over a prolonged period of time.

More likely it's a reaction to the nickel used in the sensors. a half volt cannot hurt you no matter how long it is applied. Others have reported irritation due to an allergic reaction to the contacts. No solution if that's what it is, you'll have to send it back. Sorry...

    YMMV.
I agree with the last part. The bodybugg has put my mind at ease with trying to figure out calories burned on busy days and such. worth every penny imho

Just tried to search really quick in this thread for the answer but wanted to double check... I just bought the BMF (new), will I need to wear it a week to give it a chance to start giving accurate readings or will it be accurate as soon as I began wearing it? I recall people saying it needed a week to stabilize but the quick search I just did now I saw people mentioning it didn't.

There is no "break-in" period. If you take the BMF off for an extended amount of time, it can fill in the blanks with your typical resting rate - and that is what it might take a day or two to figure out. That's all.

Think you can, think you can't - doesn't matter. Either way, you're right.

Why I can not write calories that are eaten today?
I ejected from program and program writes: "you session has timed out on the server. Please log in again"

So... my first day wearing it for 24 hours it told me I burned 4k calories or so, I can assume this is within 90% accurate without giving it a while to calibrate? If so, I'm very curious to see how many I burn on a normal day at work since the first day I wore it I didn't do as much physically as I usually do, and didn't go to the gym. If this is accurate that would have to mean I burn 5k+ calories on more active days. I've been eating 1800 calories daily for many months now and not losing any weight.

I know it was posted somewhere in this thread but...is there any huge difference in estimate if your main transportation is riding a bike around? Not trying to be ocd but I ride around alot and my arms are relatively stable, all leg work.

    Thanks.
