    How many times a day do you drink protein shakes?

    I was drinking three protein shakes a day on workout and non-workout days. I was told that's too much so I cut it down to two protein shakes a day. I started working out June 21st with the intenion of gaining mass. I'm finally past the brutal first week soreness and got my max lifts down, etc. I get paid on Friday and I intend to get a serious diet together then. Should I stay with two or go back to three?

    Original Protein Intake

    Workout Day - Pre-Workout, Post-Workout, Before Bed
    Non-Workout Day - Morning, Afternoon, Before Bed.

    Current Protein Intake

    Workout Day - Post-Workout, Before Bed
    Non-Workout Day - Morning, Before Bed

    One on most days. Sometimes I don't take one.

    I usually hear people say something like you'll **** up your kidneys if you take so much whey, but does anyone have any studies to prove this?

    I guess for a guy your size? My doctor told me to consume only 20-30g per sitting anymore is too much and unhealthy.

    lotta bro science, there, many people drink tons of shakes (ygbodybuilder drinks 8-2 serving shakes a day), lotta people are skeptical about the kidney damage.


    i drink 4-1 servings a day, only 24g each, but I typically get the rest from food

    True I seen some of the professional bb diets and they intake a ton I just don't think my body could handle that much but he's 220lbs and probably works out alot compared to my 3 days a week and just starting out haha

    its better to eat real foods but i drink protein shakes the same times you do. On workout days its morning, post workout, and before bed and and non workout its morning and before bed.
