No, it's not death. Lineage doesn't mean a thing nowadays and to insist on producing flawed offspring when we could make faster progression if we practiced eugenics is selfish and arrogant. To believe that it honestly matters who is related to you after you die is, in my opinion, infantile. You do the world a better service by abstaining from having children than you would otherwise. I am not advocating killing people and I am not saying that "non-perfect" or "flawed" individuals can not make a valid contribution to society, just that their contribution could be greater if they admitted that their offspring would unnecessary in comparison to offspring of another couple.

There is no contradiction. You don't need to have unwarranted self-importance to believe that practicing eugenics is the best for future generations, it just requires some objective thinking. I am not perfect, you are not perfect BUT if we use science and careful planning we may get close one day. We already plan a plethora of other things, why not birth of children also?
