    Should you workout or rest when feel a cold coming on?

    Everyone at work is sick, I just started a few weeks ago and caught the cold that is going around.

    I have been mega dosing on vitamin c, today is suppose to be a leg day. Should I just rest instead of working out? Does working out weaken your immune system?

    I really need to get over this cold because I cant miss work, a lot of people have been out sick or coming in to work sick passing it around.

    I generally have a light weight high volume day when i have the cold. If i feel too bummed out i have an "all machines day." That way I don't get out of habit and feel good about keeping dem gainz. I would also definitely use the steam room and sauna at the gym when i have a cold.

    Most are probably going to say rest and have no backing up evidence.

    I am going to say work out without going on a caloric deficit because an increase in temperature can shut down central metabolic pathways of certain pathogens, skeletal muscle contractions and movement increase lymphatic drainage and if workout out relieves stress for you it should decrease some hormones of chronic stress which can be toxic to mucus membranes and immune cells(gluccocorticiods).

    Just don't do 3 hours of cardio then go for a max out session.

    I've worked out with a cold/headache and felt a lot better the next day. I just avoided major lifts like deadlifts and squats.

    I know this is old but people when you feel like chit stay home don't get others sick. Also very important load up on glutimine I take 10 grams a day outside of my protein. When I feel cold coming on I up it to 20 grams. I can help

    4 gallons of water is too much man just drink a gallon unless you think you need more. More isn't alwYs better as long as your gettin enough. Just like 500 grams of protein isn't better than 200 for a 180 lbs dude . That is of course for us natural guys if your in the juice it's a different story. Too much protein is hard on the body too much water can make you feel dizzy and kill you.
