    why do some ppl take protein so blindly ? (srs)

    let me start off by saying i also take protein, but only on days that i know i missed a meal or didnt get enough protein for whatever reason.


    realistically with a half decent diet you should have absolutely no trouble getting the protein you need.

    I always hear about these ppl that drink protein everyday because they want to gain weight, where as eating tuna/eggs/chicken/red meat would be fcukin perfect.

    your just wasting your mons bros

    Agreed. With my diet I take in 150-160grams of protein easily in a day... and that's pretty close to my lbm

    Definitely agree. I have had a 5lb tub of vanilla Myofusion for a couple months now. Hardly use it. Much more satisfying to eat actual food. When I do use it I put a scoop of it in my oatmeal with blueberries and dark chocolate almond butter.

    Simply uneducated. I have couple of mates who do similar stuff. Their understanding of BB is that the more protein you ingest, the bigger you will get lol. They don't understand that you also need carbs, fat, and other micronutrients lulz.

    I use whey simply because it's a cheap source of protein, and a very good source of caloric intake. I buy from a cheap source, too. If I was not lifting, I'd probably still use whey protein. At the end of the day, it's food (calories), but in liquid form.

    I buy whey because it's cheaper than whole foods for the same amount of protein, that said, I never have more than say 3 shakes a day on a workout day.

    I have protein post workout only. It's liquid and pre-digested so it has a higher rate of absorption.

    Also protein powders are CHEAPER! I dunno where everybody gets the idea that protein powder is more expensive. Calculate how much each gram of protein is from protein powder compared to that of chicken, beef, eggs, tuna or whatever. Protein is the cheaper alternative.

    Protein supplements are cheap, convenient, and portable at room temp. Gram for gram, whey is one of the cheapest sources of protein. Strong wasting of money. With this said I rather eat whole foods, but I do like the convenience of a protein shake or protein smoothie.

    I agree, it's not hard to get protein in through food.

    But the people you mentioned drinking them to gain weight aren't terribly off. Some people have trouble downing tons of food on a bulk so it becomes easier to eat as much as possible and then fill in the rest of your bulking cals through liquid such as protein/weight gainer shakes.
