If any teens need some lifting or nutrition advice, don't hesitate to come in. (Srs)

Hey guys, I enjoy helping people out, so I figured I'd make a thread helping out teens when it comes to meeting their lifting goals, or even helping when it comes to advice or answering any questions they have.

    Remember, we all started somewhere!

So ask anything relevant that you're interested in, or curious about, and I will give advice to the best of my ability.

Based on the way you types I can't tell if you're being serious.

I haven't taken a creatine in a while, but my favorite was definitely Con-cret. You won't be retaining a ton of water-weight, and you will definitely notice your muscle-recovery speed drastically increase. It's been a while, so I can't remember everything - but those two things are embedded in my brain when it comes to that creatine.

Well, it's not very easy to cut fat and gain mass at the same time. Stick to doing one at a time, honestly. I would simply cut until the end of summer to keep your bodyfat as low as possible, and then do a nice clean bulk and put on tremendous size while still remaining relatively lean.

    Hey! few questions..
If I have 'too much' protein, even if it is from a variety of sources, can some of it still go to waste and have no impact? or is there no such thing as too much?
Also, will developing a larger upper body slow me down a lot as a sprinter? or will it make me more explosive ( I do legs as well) ?

    thanks, nice thread

They're not necessary they just help . 80% of the supplements out there are BS. All you should be taking is whey , creatine , multi vitamin. If you need a boost add a pre workout to that but it's unneeded as i said.

Sure I wouldn't mind having a second opinion without making a thread.

My first bulk I gained too much fat so I cut now I'm pretty lean and small so I'm bulking up, I count my cals and macros but here is my questions, I gain fat quickly so basically I don't go that high on my carbs.

I eat around 2600cals, my maintenance is around 2200cals, 60-80g of fat, 250-300g carbs, 200g protein, on a 5 day split, off days I reduce carbs and up fat to 100g.

Now should I reduce protein and up carbs, I know the protein is high, no surprises there but I find it helps me keep my fat gains in check, should I think of bumping carbs to 350-400g? I just have trouble getting low protein macros because most of my big calorie meals have steaks/chicken etc... and I don't really eat pasta not a fan so my carbs come from bread&rice and I have trouble getting it really high basically.

    Advice?

Heey, thank you for the willingness to help. i have several questions actually .

    1. im starting out with a 3 day split, will my muscles build by doing this ? because the program im following is a teen program and it consists of training Mon/Wed/Fri/ and Tues/Thurs is cardio and the weekend is off. will this work?

    2. Nutrition wise, im scared if i put down all those calories then ill get fat instead of muscular so what should i do as a beginner ?

Please reply, and Thank you again for your help

In my opinion, there's really not a thing such as "too much" when it comes to protein. As long as you are exerting yourself in the gym and busting your ass like it should be, it won't be going to waste.

Well building your upper body could slow you down slightly, but I wouldn't worry about it if you're also hitting your legs pretty hard. The main explosiveness when it comes to sprinting will be from your legs, so don't neglect them.

Are supplements really necessary? Like Protein shakes, Creatine etc.
They're not necessary at all, but they help.

I haven't had a single supplement, other than having a basic protein and a pre-workout since last September or so. I wouldn't waste your money on anything besides protein and a pre-workout, a multi, and a fishoil unless you have money to burn.

You can stay on it however long you like. I did it for two months (using whole milk) and went from 185 to 210 or so.

    Youngzealot posted vids for you.

    Advice?
Well, I thought you said you're trying to avoid carbs because you react badly to them in the sense of putting on fat? When I was bulking, I had closer to 400g carbs a day. Also, keep your protein high, there is no need to lower it. I hope it's brown rice that you're eating as well. White rice is a simple carb and is a waste of time, heh. I didn't eat too much pasta during my bulk and could maintain my carbs. Maybe you should invest in a gainer shake that comes with a bunch of carbs.

Also, how much are you wanting to bulk to?

My routine changes constantly. You can check out my current routine in my workout log (linked in my sig)

So far, it looks like you're doing pretty good. You're at that perfect stage to where you should start bulking. Your bodyfat is relatively low, so do a clean bulk to retain the leanness.

Remember, if you want to be 205, you have to eat like you're 205 (or more so you can gain faster). Start getting an extra 1-2k calories in your diet and you will notice the gains going up tremendously.

    2. Nutrition wise, im scared if i put down all those calories then ill get fat instead of muscular so what should i do as a beginner ?

Please reply, and Thank you again for your help
For number one, yes. Rest is the time that you grow, and that routine is allowing you to rest. Just make sure you're busting your ass in the gym, and workout everything out. If you're going M/W/F, you should be doing something like Chest/Legs/Back (smaller bodyparts as well, but only once per week, for now).

Don't be scared to put down a ton of calories. Just make sure the calories are lean and not filled with sugar and fat. Eat big, get big.

What happens if I barely eat anything a day? Like one or two small meals. I don't care if I lose muscle, I'm just tired of being a fat ass.

Ab workouts dont do anything for making your gut smaller(less fat). Drop the calories on your bulk so will gain less fat.

Just clean your diet up, don't starve yourself...

If you're doin a clean bulk and working out actively you shouldn't be getting a cut :| but yeah, doing ab workouts would be fine (or running instead). Weighted ab workouts may make your stomach appear larger though, as it's growing the muscles...

Can you clarify your question, please?

Just because you're eating more doesn't mean you're going to gain strength. To gain substantial strength you need to be going HEAVY when you lift.
