What are the pros and cons?
Is it worth spending a extra to get a pullup bar with a captain's chair?
From my research the captain's chair isolates the abs better whereas the ab straps work the entire core as well.
Why do people with a captain's chair use abs straps and vice versa?

The captain chair is basically ineffective for ab work unless you're bringing your knees up to your chin. Most people just bring their knees up to their chest and leave their back flat on the chair. This is only working the hip flexors.
If you don't get what you want you didn't want it bad enough
