    Chicken breast vs chicken thigh

    I just had 8oz of chicken breast. IMO chicken thigh > chicken breast, anyone else know that feel?

    Chicken thigh: so jooocy, but 8oz = 24g of protons
    Chicken breast: pretty dry, even with olive oil, but 8oz = 52g of protons

    I always have thigh, today was the first day I tried breast. IMO breast could be more edible if chopped up in smaller pieces and as part of a good Thai or Indian curry.

    where i buy meat, thigh is like $3.49 (skin and bone) per lb and breast is $4.49 per lb

    The thighes I eat are 140 cal per 100g with 19g of p and the breast is 110 cal per 100g with 23 g of p. A little more protein in the breast but imo the joocayness and taste of the thigh is worth it.

    You are including the weight of the bone in that, you don't eat the bone do you?

    I'm all for the chicken thighs, lb for lb it has roughly the same amount of protein, it tends to be half the price in the UK (I have 4.5kgs in my fridge for £10 from the local butcher.) If you know how to use it you can make as much from it as you can a thigh.

    Chicken breast is undoubtedly better when talking about protein/price ratio.

    Chicken thighs have loads of fat which I obviously won't prefer when cutting and in health terms too, a lot of saturated fat is not very healthy

    well that's why I mentioned "a lot of saturated fat"

    Eating lot of it on a daily basis esp while bulking is not advisable. And chicken thighs in stead of chicken breasts daily? No thank you

    breast can be juicy. use a food thermometer when cooking. get it to 155-160 and take it off the heat and let it rest. temp will continue to rise getting to the required 165 to be "safe"...and it won't be dry.

    I like deli cuts or fish better, but breasts are cheap, like 3lbs for $7 for the frozen bulk ones.

    Bro, I always eat thigh. This is literally the first time I ate breast in years, not going to eat it again once this pack is over.

    I eat a high-fat/grain free diet most of the time, so I don't mind the extra fat in thighs. Saturated fats and cholesterol have been proven to boost hormone levels and they make your joints feel 100x better.

    For a low-fat option, tilapia is better than chicken breast IMO and is dirt cheap as well.

    I've always heard that a lot of saturated fat is not good for heart health, especially in older people. Is it still bad if your lean and athletic? I mean won't it get used up as energy and not hinder health?

    If your chicken breasts are dry, you cooked them too long.

    My chicken breasts are never dry.

    Also, I think your thigh protein count is off. They aren't very different in prot content. Maybe 10 g at most.

    Saturated fat isn't considered healthy, but it's bound to be in your food. Just don't eat so much of it. Like i said, anything is okay if it's eaten in moderation.

    Btw, I really don't think it matters in "fat" content between thigh and breast as long as it's skinless.

    Chicken thighs are a bit higher in fat, so I would be cautious with too much. But they also have alot higher iron content so there is a tradeoff.

    Flavor...thighs obviously.
