Lightbulb what do you think about your protein intake?

i hear a lot that you need 1 g of protein per pound of your wt ? is this true ? are you doing that ? are you going higher as i do " 179 lb and 240 g protein " ?

so tell me what you think ?

i think the conventional wisdom might be a little too much on the safe side--as far its muscle sparing and growth is concerned, but I don't mind, I like to eat meat. It's also very filling, so when trying to drop fat, eating a lot of meat makes things much easier. When I transition to a bulk (soon, goddamnit, soon) I might eat a tad less than I do currently. I tend to think that if you make a protein dish the centerpiece of every meal, and have carbs and fat to taste and cravings, and keep your calories where you want to be, you'll be fine.

I haven't been at this fitness thing for very long, though.

that's really awesome man^^ do you get in only 80-100 AFTER aminos? or are those added to your grams?

Don't take this the wrong way btw -- but I take in a lot more than you, see phenomenal gains as well and I bench/squat and deadlift more than that

80-10 grams of whole food protein + aminos. I don't really try to get extra protein in my diet, but it just shows up from burgers, burittos, milk and so forth.

Same here, loooong ways to go until I'm happy. I seem to get injured/sick/need surgery every 4 months or so which puts me out like 1-2 months....so it's like two steps forward, one step back lol.

I can guarantee you that I would never recover from a workout if I ate that little protein....I would be useless lol.

You don't consider your amino's protein?

I think if you took in sufficient aminos you might be surprised. I'm talking more than just the branch chain aminos tho. The formula that I use has about 10.5 grams of the essentials. I work for a company that produces aminos, so I get it at a loooow price.

The price of whey will be going up in the near future (has already started to some). Which might make supplementing with aminos a more affordable option.

I do...in a sense. Free form amino's (about 10 of the EAA's) are required for maximum MPS (muscle protein synthesis). Aminos function as a protein.

I go higher...much much higher than 1g/lb. It's not uncommon for me to be upwards of 300g a day.

I just prefer filling my calories with protein rather than more carbs. Personal preference. Steak > rice

Always, you know what you are doing. I just can't imagine 23 grams of fat.
I really would like to try roo.

It won't finish that low. I'll have 500g cc with flaxseed oil in it soon.

Will get me about 340/50/35. Then I'll decide what's next

Hmm I'm usually taking in somewhere between 160-185g per day. Assuming 140 lb @ 11%~ BF I'm eating approximately 1.3-1.5 g/lb of lean body mass. Meat ftw.

    Pretty much always 300g+

At the moment about 340g, incidental intake from oats etc bumps the number up quite a bit
All posts should be considered in the correct context, especially those in the Misc section.

150-175 is my sweet spot atm, so roughly 1.2g/lb of protein. If I counted macros it would roughly be (f/c/p) 80/300/175
