Preface: I have good deadlifting form and I don't make a habit of dropping the bar when I'm done. I'm also a skinny phuck so I'm not pulling insane amounts of weight
Home from college for a week or so working out at the LA Fitness near my parents' house. Was doing leg day, started with deadlifts. Finished with two warmup sets and did a third set started with 315. After my set, this guy who worked at the facility approached me and asked me to stop deadlifting. At first, i was like "are you messing with me?" He told me he was completely srs and they didn't want people deadlifting at their facility because its a 'dangerous' lift and its bad for the floors. I asked him again if he was serious and with an attitude he *told* me to re-rack my weight and 'move along.' I asked him if he was a trainer at the gym and he told me yes, and I pulled the Greg Plitt card and told him I thought it was funny how all the trainers at this LA Fitness look like they need a trainer and then I told him I was going to go to the 24-Hour Fitness down the street and finish my workout. Then I walked out.
LA Fitness doesn't want people working out their legs/lower back.
CLIFFS:
trainer at LA Fitness told me (with an attitude) to stop deadlifting b.c its a 'dangerous' lift
i said "not sure if srs"
he was srs about srsing
i told him to phuck himself and walked out

hah, so glad i just changed from la fitness to a dungeon gym.
also now i don't have 342346892346 fit/jacked guys giving me the eagle eye cause i'm a fat guy who is lifting/trying to get in shape, they always act like i'm in the way, like somehow they are more entitled to do their half ROM barbell lifts instead of me doing proper form not trying to impress *******s. . la fitness is ego central. what a joke.

No problems at my LA fitness.
Is there is group of old dudes, who look to be juicin', doing all kinds of gay sh*t with chains and bands hanging everywhere. Deadlifting 800 pounds with lots of bands to make it easier. All shouting at each other and they don't care--= C.E.O. of Pharmacy Rₓ Crew =--

That sucks. Must be a location/douchebag specific thing. There's one dude who deads like 500lbs who screams each rep and slams the weight down at my LA Fitness. Granted it's 500lbs. so I don't think it's the most graceful to deadlift and gently put down, but either way I've never seen anyone say anything to him.
Getting back to it. First order of business, cut a bit.
Goal to that is to run the Peachtree Road Race this year. Currently up to 3.5/6 miles nonstop.
Update: Well, I beat 22000 other people in the Peachtree... only took some 90 minutes lol.

Weird...I train at 3 different LA Fitnesses, depending on where I am that day, and have never had a problem.
Go back and do DL's again next week. If they give you crap, tell them to show you in writing where it says you cant DL there.
I did have a jerkoff next to me one day DL-ing 315 and dropping the bar half way down every rep. I bertstared at him the whole time and got a $hitty look back from him. A trainer came over and told him that if he wants to DL, to not drop it and do it right. LULZ!---------------->MFC<---------------

I can't fuking stand what gyms have become WTF
…we have not spent the last 65 million or so years finely honing our physiology to watch Oprah. Like it or not, we are the product of a very long process of adaptation to a harsh physical existence, and the past couple centuries of comparative ease and plenty are not enough time to change our genome. We humans are at our best when our existence mirrors, or at least simulates, the one we are still genetically adapted to live. And that is the purpose of exercise. - Mark Rippetoe

it's not la fitness policy brah. the guy was spouting bullshiit.
i'm a member and i always do deadlifts right in front of the gym manager (who also works out sometimes). my friend has also slammed 80s to the floor HARD from incline benching right in front of manager, and he's never said anything. We're All Gonna Make It
