i agree. when i go to other countries i have a translator and do my best to attempt to speak their native language, usually they let me off and inform me they speak english.
i dont mind immigrants but i do have an issue with them not attempting or even acting like they dont know or comprehend english.

There's nothing wrong with someone being fluent in English but asking to be able to testify in their native language so they can comfortably articulate their thoughts. It's a bigger waste of the senate's time if he were to get nervous and trip over his English, be unclear, etc.

who's to say what language the guy should be speaking in. Another problem with today's society is this sense of entitlement, he doesn't owe that senator **** and he was in no way "insulting" him by using a translator. If he feels more comfortable speaking through a translator as opposed to stumbling through his words in English than so be it.

It's so stupid...Illegal immigrants should have NO rights. Literally zero, other than they still have to be treated like a human being. So IMO illegals should be locked up for a few years and dumped back off in Mexico. Yes I know our prisons are full and it costs a lot of money for 1 prisoner. But over half of all the people in prison shouldn't even be there, Our countries Judicial system is a great thing but has way to many flaws.
And "Immigrants" are great, I'm all for all nationalities settling in America so we can be more diverse. BUT Illegals are illegal. Other countries lay landmines around there borders and shoot on site.....and we let them get funding for college through tax payer money?? wtf...Last edited by AudiRS6; 06-21-2011 at 05:32 PM.

Lol at English being our "native language," like all 307 million of us came from England.
Anyway if you want to go on a nativist rant go right ahead, I won't stop you.
Enought time to learn English, yes. But it may still never be the language you are most comfortable speaking in, especially if you started learning as an adult and the common daily usage you practice your english with will not include complex political subjects.“I don’t like work - no man does - but I like what is in the work - the chance to find yourself. Your own reality - for yourself, not for others - what no other man can ever know. They can only see the mere shows, and never can tell what it really means.” - Joseph Conrad

Ohhhhh of course, the sense of entitlement! YEAHHHHH
Oh but let us completely ignore the sense of entitlement illegal immigrants who aren't even supposed to be here have, their sense of entitlement that they own the land and everyone should accommodate them, that the government should provide them everything legal citizens have.
Sorry to resort to ad-hominem attacks, but you sir, are a spineless little scoundrel. A Man of meek character, meek character indeed.
