it's best before bed, or in between meals.......it's mainly micellar casein, which digests slower than whey concentrate and isolate. Something like:
Dymatize Elite Whey
^^^
should be taken post workout, and pre workout if you want.....the chocolate mint, cafe mocha, butter toffee are amazing!United States Marine Corps: RECON

Muscle Milk gets a lot of criticism because of it's high fat content. However, a little fat is OK (even saturated fat) for keeping up your testosterone levels. I don't consume much fat throughout the day so Muscle Milk becomes my main source of fat.

100% ON whey is fine during cutting. I definitely recommend Sustain for prebed use also it tastes amazing especially with some skim milk. It is great stuff.

I agree! My diet is very low in fast/Sat Fat So really the MM is my only source of fat. it has no trans fatty acid Plus+ it is desinged to help in the aid of fat loss, According to the front label.

In addition to Muscle Milk, Cytosport makes EvoPro, which is the same micellar casein as Muscle Milk, but without the fat (I believe the fat content is less than 3g).
On cuts, I don't know that it really makes a difference re: whey vs. casein, except at night. And as someone else stated, casein's preferable before bed because it digests slower, so the protein stays in your system longer. This can also be enhanced by adding some flax seed oil or other healthy fat to the mix.

I cut mm out just to lean up for summer and rid myself of low ab fat..I'm not sold on the 8 grams of saturated fat..**** taste good it's a shame..I seen a bodybuilder guy going to competition and claimed to take muscle milk..He said he just pretty much removed more of the fats out of his diet so he could include mm in his regimen..
if your diet is tight..Do it
if your diet isn't perfected..I'd go more with an On Whey Supplement..Add some fruit or peanut butter for flavoring
good luckControl the weight..Don't let the weight control you..

Hmmm
It's all particulars... I mean peanuts have a lot of fat. We drink milk don't we? Fats won't be the killer in the cut phase. It's the calories and carbs you take in that really matter. If your worried about fat then you would be worrying about your cardiac health - which should be fine if your an active person. MM is fine to take on a cut. It's protein, and has a few other things in it that are good and on top of that it taste amazing with skim and some ice. With a cut diet of 2300 calories or less, the MM will not make a differance if you are using it as your fuel for the fire. Just remember that.

Absolutely quit muscle milk for cutting or precontest
C'mon guys, if you want to get that rock hard look, that really dense look, you got to lay off the whey protein all together. Its dairy for gods sake...dont get me wrong, it has its place in the off season, but for cutting or pre contest...eliminate it and see how much quicker you tighten up and how dense your muscle become. No more secrets from me........!!! Egg protein guys, and protein from real food sources (fish, tuna, eggs, lean red meat) is the recipe to look better and harder than ever before.
Muscle milk to get cut......geez louize
im out

I'm cutting right now and have gotten down to 6.7% BF. I've been cutting for about 2 months solid and have only had 2 or three cheat days, and I usually get my fats from avocados so I cut out the MM (though I LOVE IT!) but I've been using ON 100% Casien (vanilla) before bed/between meals, and ON gold standard pre/post workout. They don't taste as good as MM, but that vanilla casein is starting to taste pretty darn good.
BTW the chocolate Casien was horrible for me.

I was wondering if MM might actually benefit me during my cut. I was thinking of picking it up and using it either pre bed... or preworkout. The thing is I don't really consume a lot of fat throughout the day and I was wondering it this would make a good source of fat for a cut.. IF it's in my macros along with my usage of fishoil, almonds, PB.
