My opinion is that CM is great on a cut. You've got to remember, since the muscles are already facing a lowered state of glycogen storage, extra water in the muscle will lead to a better anabolic environment, considering that calories are below maintenance.
Muscle wasting is a concern when cutting, but the extra ATP stores will prevent loss of lean mass and keep energy and strength levels up in the gym. Creatine enhances muscle hydration, as well.
