    My head is spinning!

    Hi everyone!
I'm very (very, very) new to the idea of bodybuilding, and the idea of being exceptionally fit. I've been doing a lot of reading on nutrition and supplements, and to be perfectly honest, I think my brain is going to explode! I'm having a hard time sifting through all of the information, and making sense of it. So, if any of you could take a minute to answer some questions, I'd be thrilled!

What does a "pre workout" supplement actually do?
What about a "during workout" supplement?
    And an "after workout" supplement?
How do supplements aid in recovery?
As a beginner, should I even be worrying about a supplement?

    Thanks guys!

    I don't use any supplements at all. I don't think they're necessary...and they're SO expensive.

No need to overwhelm yourself with information...just get enough protein (see stickies in this forum), get enough calories, drink lots of water, lift (follow a program!!), rest and repeat.
