Will losing 2 pounds a week cause me to get loose skin?

I am currently 6 '3 270 lbs.i have alot of stretchmarks as it is idk if that plays a factor. I plan on losing around 40 lbs total im sure tho towards the end i wont be losing 2 lbs prob a week mabey less since will be harder than and i dont want to lose much muscle if possible. But if i lose 2 pounds a week for up to 40 lbs you think ill get loose skin. I will be lifting 5 days a week. I put on the extra weight and had it for about a year to a year and a half now id say.

that's a very slow rate, I watched my father drop 37 pounds in 3 weeks so you shouldn't see any problems with skin marks.

2 lbs a week is fine, just watch out and if you start seeing it give the weight loss a break as in just maintain your calories

2 lbs a week is a good rate. You shouldn't see too much loose skin if you are lifting heavy.

Yes ^^^. Skin is completely dependent upon the individuals genetic makeup and how well you've taken care of it. Honestly, asking whether or not you will get loose skin is irrelevant. I'd rather be fit and healthy with curtains hanging off of me, then to be 300 lbs. and have nice vibrant tight skin. My opinion is to tear it up in the gym, eat right and get healthy. Deal with loose skin and other obstacles as they come up. It's all about being healthy!!!

With that said, Vitamin 'E' I believe it is helps to make your skin healthy. Just lotion up after every shower. It will be, what it will be...

I lost 60 pounds from last june to february, with the last 20 coming off very quickly. Thought I had some loose skin, but it was really just fat I hadn't burned off yet. worry about it when you get to where yo want to be weightwise.

    This.

It's always the cardio kings that eat the Machinist diet that end up with lots of loose skin.

Always good to include Lifting into a exercise routine.

(age and losing it too quick are big factors also)

I got 0 loose skin from lifting + diet + (some cardio)

Looks like a sensible day of eating. You're probably better off eating more vegetables, preferably ones that don't come from a can, but that's just nitpicking.

Your actual foods mean very little, what you need to calculate is the nutritional content of what you eat (MACROS) protien, fat, carbs and calories. Stop doing bicep workouts and start doing compound movements ie. deadlift, squat, rows, bench. Have you read the stickies??

Most of what I have read says loose skin is more a function of age and how far it was stretched. How fast you lose it has little to do with the equation. (2lbs a week is a fine healthy weight loss goal for a big guy though)

My guess is you wont have any problems at your age. You have the right attitude, the only thing you can really do is lose the weight and figure it out.
