    Smile Trying again. :)

    First post and hello. *waves*

I've decided to try going to the gym again. I've tried before but never really got into the routine of going regularly, so I didn't last long.

I got over the first hurdle of actually going into the gym yesterday (I was so nervous, I don't think I could have looked more uncomfortable if I'd tried).

I warmed up, did some of the exercises that I could remember from last time, and left.

It was embarrassing having to ask for help from someone to remove a couple of plates that had been left on by someone else. I just didn't feel safe trying to remove them myself.

I know I didn't get much done while I was there, but just going in the first place was a challenge for this coward (self-conscious much?).

I'm going again tomorrow...hope I don't feel this damn nervous everytime.

Good for you for getting back in there and tackling it! Maybe try out a women's gym? (since some men are rude and leave alll their plates on :P LOL)...anyway, you'll get more and more comfortable as time goes on, enjoy it!

Congrats! It WILL get easier! You could always ask when the quieter times of day are so it's less crowded. Also, most gyms offer a free orientation with a trainer to help familiarize yourself with the equipment.

    Good luck!

Good luck. In no time, you will look at removing plates as extra bonus lifting!

Thats really good that you went. You shouldnt feel so nervous. Your there for yourself. Just pretend your the only one in there if you have too. Put your mp3 on and just jam away. You ever try to write anything down? I have a book w/ me at the gym. That way you know what you did and next time try for more reps or more weight. It takes the remembering what ya did last time factor away. Try to get on some type of routine and believe me you grow more confident everytime. : )
