    energy day after huge meal

hey guys have a serious question about energy and performance in general

i try to work out 6-7 days per week and during the week im always dead tired and can barely keep my eyes awake when i lay down. im sore and very sluggish in the morning and most mornings it takes a cup of coffee or caffeine to get me going to at the gym

fast forward to saturday where normally, including last night, is my large cheat meal for the week. last night had a party and put down a ton of bbq, sausage, chips and queso, beers, margaritas, etc.

this morning i got up and i had a ton of energy, even though i drank and ate a ton the night before. went on a 8 mile run and then lifted and was fine. actually could have kept going

the rest of the day i had great energy and now having trouble falling asleep

is this just a matter of having all those extra calories and carbs in my system ready to burn or does it mean that im not getting enough nutrients and calories/carbs during my weekly workouts?

    TIA

    Probably both.

When you consume food, you are literally consuming energy...that's what calories are. If you're training 6-7 days/week, and not getting proper nutrients and rest, then yes you will likely feel tired and fatigued every day.
