Stomach Fats Question (Not about spot reduction)

I dont know if this has been posted/asked before and please spare me if this is a stupid question.

If subcutaneous fats are the fats under the skin and visceral fats are fats filling up the cavities between internal organs; then how can we say if we have more visceral than subcutaneous fats in our stomach or vice versa?

When you pinch your stomach, is that purely subcutaneous fats?
Are visceral fats going to be reduced the same way we reduce the subcutaneous fats? Through calorie deficit?

Lets say your getting down there in weight and all you have is the fat under the skin. you grab fat, or poke yourself, you will feel your abs hard as a rock, especially if flexed. You know all the stuff you grabbed or poked through is subcutaneous.

If however, you have no fat to grab or poke, nothing squishy on top, abs are hard, yet you still look like a dead bloated animal on the side of a road in a hot summer day, that is all visceral.

Yes fat is fat, they are all reduced the same.

Edit, I guess how to tell how much you have of each is get your BF relatively low and see if you are squishy fat, or hard and fat. I know somebody that has a low BF, but what fat is left is visceral. Abs are hard, but if you touch her tummy, it looks/feels bloated or constipated.

    Wow thanks for the explanation.
So do we know if sub and visceral fats are being melted the same time? Or does sub goes first normally? Or we cant really tell.

the Bloat can come from a distended stomach as well. I used to have a turtle shell (visible abs but if I didn't suck in my gut, it was rounded out).
Flex and if it jiggles, it's fat.

I obviously still have excess subcutaneous fats to lose. I just dont know earlier whether it is really just sub or visceral. I know its hard to tell whether my abs will appear once this sub fats are gone.

But like what bdrusse said, I can feel the hard part (hopefully abs) when I poke (about half an inch) thru my sub fats.

    Thanks for the response brothers!

    1. Yes
    2. Yes

There are some slight physiological differences between the two, but both should come off normally through calorie deficit.
