brb guy working at gym saying I'm too small to grunt, you have to be a certain size before you can grunt LOLWUT (even though a small guy has to work harder to get to the level of others)

Just buy those in-ear noise cancelling earphones and turn up your workout music. Easier to ignore people. People might think you're a foreveralone awkward ******* but you'll enjoy your workout more.

Unless the staff are telling you not to grunt, just keep doing what helps you. Don't worry about what random strangers think of you.

But don't drop weights. If you can pick them up, you can put them down. Unless you think you're about to injure yourself obviously.

It's all in the attitude mate, if you act like a manlet you'll get treated like one. Every time. Jeez, I've lost count of the number of 6'ers who've backed down when they've stepped up and realised I'm absolutely not gonna back down.
