    cortisone for biceps tendinitis?

Hello, Ive done 12 physioytherapy sesssions. Took NSAIDS for 2 weeks. 2 Doctors diagnosed it as Biceps tendonitis. I have a bulge on the front of my shoulder. Is Corticosteroids worth it? anyone with biceps tendonitis had success with Cortisone? Im 20years old btw, havent worked out in a month becauae of this.

Cortisone will likely help reduce swelling and pain. One or two times would probably be okay here but you don't want it to become a habit. The procedure is quick & easy.

The bigger question is why do you have it, especially at your age. Do you have any other shoulder abnormalities/problems?

I had shoulder impingement due to bad form in my bench press. I had pain when abducting, but that is gone after PT.
So cortisone accompanied with proper rehab will get rid of tendonitis? Should I be worried about the side effects of cortisone?

There are a lot of potential side effects that are mostly tied to the talent of the person doing the injection (you can look these up). Repetitive use has been linked to thinning and weakening of tissues, including tendons, but I wouldn't be overly worried about a single injection. If you are at the point of having this being visible from the outside then I would guess that you are doing more damage to the tendon by being under this chronic inflammatory state than whatever damage a single cortisone injection might do (which is basically none as I understand it).

The most common issue I've seen with people (this is anecdotal, just known a few who've had it done) is that they feel pretty good right away and run out and beat the hell out of it in the gym and then end up back where they started. If I were to have it done I would let the cortisone do its thing, include rest & ice, and then gradually work back into it. Get out in front of the chronic inflammation with the injection and then let your body heal. Stick to your PT as directed and make sure you have remedied the cause of the tendonitis in the first. Avoid overhead work for a while (I'd never do behind the neck work again if I were you) and anything that compresses the joint space.

I don't know their names, but they involve moving my torso away from my biceps while my hand is on a wall, along with some regular shoulder stretches. Could you link me that

I've spoken to my doctor and agreed to spend 1-2 more weeks on NSAIDS before taking a Cortisone shot. The main reason being that i did notice the pain to be a little less than it used to be over the course of NSAIDS.
