Oh and I did get the job. The offer was sent to me today. The only thing left is a background check, but I know that will be fine, so I put in my 2 week notice today. My last day at this job will be Jan 7th. Then I get 6 days off before starting the new job.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

okay, so I was doing these curls in the squat rack, but only because I really wanted to use a straight bar and the gym was totally empty. After my 3rd set a guy comes over and asks how much longer. I tell him to go ahead and take the rack, since I'm just curling and I can go use ez bars. So, I leave and head over to where the ez bars are and notice in the mirror that bro has loaded up the bar and is curing like a maniac. Geez, I guess I could've kept doing my curls. Lame!

It was so nice because I got off work an hour early and MIL was at my house watching the kids, so I was able to take as long as I wanted. Squats were great today, probably because I wasn't rushed and I didn't DL recently.

Loving the kids being on break, so I can take as long as I want at the gym! I should be able to for the next 2 weeks too. It's on!
I absolutely love the Versas except for one thing. They kind of tore my wrists up. It's more like the heel of my hand, on the side where my thumb is. They were apparently rubbing there. I didn't notice it much at the time, but now I have these sore/raw spots on my hand. Is it a too loose or too tight problem or do I just need to get used to them?

See what happens when I have all kinds of time? I do extra exercises, lol. I decided to add those bridge/ham curls on at the end and oh man my hamstrings and lower back were screaming. DL fuks all my other workouts up. I think I need to make sure I have a day off after DL all the time. Christmas sort of messed my schedule up this week, but hopefully next week I can keep the schedule I like.
VGs still hurt my hand. I made them as loose as possible, but they naturally fold where the velcro ends and that's just where they stick. They're not tight though. I can easily stick a finger in between my hand and the strap. Maybe I'll wear a band-aid in that one spot until my hand gets used to it.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

What size are your VG's? Maybe they're too big??? I put mine on fairly tight ... the two rounded ends are touching on the back of my wrist when I velcro the straps on. Mine did soften up some after I used them for a while. Maybe they're just stiff because they're new. I can't recall ever having them rub like you've described.
Have a great weekend, Squeaks!Caring about what people think of you is useless. Most people don't even know what they think of themselves.

I tossed the package, so I'm not sure of the size. I think they're small though. The small says 5 3/4"-6 1/2 and my wrist measures 6" exactly. The 2 rounded end just barely touch when I have them on. I think I just need to get used to them.

So, I had my first squat fail today. It was kind of funny too because I was reading in Hammie's journal about how you need to use the safeties and not be afraid to fail. Then I read in Drea's journal about how she was told to put her safeties up higher. I actually moved my safeties up one notch before this set and I'm super glad I did. I think I can do that weight, but my head wasn't in it or something. I felt too wobbly coming up and felt like I might fall back, so I just bailed. I was taking a video of my personal record breaking attempt, so I present to you my epic fail for the lulz.
[color=red]Okay, I have to add this before I post. As I'm watching my 145lb fail again just now, I look at the plates and realize it's 155. No fricken wonder I failed. My current PR is 140x1 and that was pretty hard. That actually makes me feel a little better, lol. [/red]
