What is the best rep range for lifting for size? I know it typically varies per person, but is there a general guideline that has seemed I work for you all.

lifting for size
There is a general rule - lifting for size (getting bulk) requires lower range of reps than lifting for definition for example. I would say - after 1-2 warmup sets, light weight and 1 middle set with moderate weight (8 reps) you should have few sets with 6 reps -heavy weight.
These figures varies depends on exercises. Squats and deadlifts usually require less reps.
