Do you still do cardio during your weight lifting breaks?

I just about hit a plateau in my training and im going to take a one week break from lifting starting tomorrow. I will be eating super clean during the week, but my question was...can you still do cardio during your break? or will that alter the CNS?

Nah, **** it. Let yourself recover. Don't do anything even remotely taxing. Walk around for a few miles if you need to do something.

Of course it's going to alter the CNS. I think cardio is better for altering the CNS then is strength training IMO. I would definitely do cardio.

I don't do cardio per se on recovery weeks. I tend to do things that I actually like to do that are somewhat taxing, like field hockey, basketball with friends, or just going on a bike ride...active recovery week

I have a busted shoulder now. So, if you consider this a break, I do do cardio.

Currently stair runs for me. 30 levels up and down.

I miss the gym. Losing fibraz.

    go outside for a walk
    soak up some sun
no reason to go crazy with cardio on a week off.

Another thing I forgot to note...from my end of things, taking a week off and getting back into it full speed I'm usually feeling off quite a bit...I don't feel nearly as off when I do more of an active rest week

I was actually wondering the exact same thing OP. I think I'm overtraining, so I'm taking a week off from lifting and want to know if it's a good idea to still do cardio.

Have the complete week off, do nothing, just be lazy! Srs. That's what I do anyway. Hell, I even might chuck in an extra cheat meal in there.

The real benefits of cardio are all psychological (The CNS). However, you most likely won't be able to reap them because you don't know what to look for in terms of the state of your mind while exercising

So maybe 4 light cardio sessions during the break will actually benefit me instead of hurt me?
