PT Certification/s: What do you have?
In the future I want to get certified (need to get in better shape first hehe) but there are so many to choose from. It's confusing what to go after. Any experience/advice on what to look for would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Ace=cheaper and covers the same material as the more expensive ones. Nasm is rediculously overpriced

Thanks for your input. How long have you been with ACE? I checked them out first.

Well honestly there is a small price difference ( I think its like 99 dollars lol, yep ACEs course to get what NASMs 699 one offers is 579.) between ACE and NASM , so that isn't huge for me? Also people post in here all day but if you make a thread asking people to show there certifications no one does so that's something to remember.....I honestly think, you being an adult and not a 18 year old kid out of high school, you should just get NASM.
NASM has a lot of room for continuing your education once you do get them by teaching at colleges and treating your NASM certification as a 4 year degree in some colleges. NASM PES and CES certifications are held by 93% of coaches in the NBA and Sylvester Stallone and (other "stars") uses a NASM trainer ( you can talk to that trainer actually if your licensed NASM and go to a specific forum). Also NASM is 100% evidence based , every example they will give you CAN be proved from testing done at either universities or by college athletes.
Not to mention , 2 gyms in my area REQUIRE NASM to even work there.
Now no certification is bad and I like them all and think you should diversify your education, but for you I would say start off with NASM for a solid base. I am in no way knocking any other certification but MY favorite is NASM. Also after you pass NASM and get slightly experienced you can buy just the ACE test for 199.99 and pick it up too. you cant do it the other way around , just NASMs test is as much as its study packages.
Also , wait for it..... someone will soon say a certification doesn't make a trainer, which is true but it is needed 90% of the time.
and to BCO2 , please don't get offended lol, I can tell by your posts your certified and seem like a great guy and I do like ACE and respect ACE trainers the same as any other.
I offer online consultation as a hobby , the rates can be as affordable as you need if you have passion.

Pick an NCCA accredited certification and work towards obtaining it. Your knowledge base should expand beyond what certification you choose.

for about a month. Was with nsca a few years back but let it expire. The nsca test didnt seem any more difficult then the ace cpt for me. Wanted to get another organizations perspective is why i went with ace over just taking the nsca again.

Isnt that just the test bro ? I dont think anyone can pass it that easy lol. It is the price I mentioned for it to come with the online study , books , practice exams and ect like the NASM has.
I see 284,399 and 579.
One thing I have noticed about all the certifications is out of all of them NASM has more " I failed , it was too hard or need advice threads" then all the rest combined times 3. So that seems like a sign on difficulties. Now do I think a ACE trainer could pass the NASM? Most likely but NASM has a huge variety of different information and approachs so threes more possibility to learn more and it seems harder.
But I still don't own a ACE book just don't ever see anyone "freaking out over it' , I just bought the exam, maybe I need to pick up a book for reference.

Just took the ACSM exam myself, got an 85% on it...not too shabby I guess, considering I dont do much studying cause I dont like it, lol. I have always been told, even by the ACSM instructor, to focus on getting certified by a NCAA accredited program. That is what is most important....Now, Im going to be looking into further, more specific *****, probably from ACE, ACSM, and maybe others here and there
