Well if you mean I will just time travel to some time before 9/11 and then have to stop 9/11 myself then no I would rather take the $5million because everyone would think I was crazy if I tried to warn them. But if you mean that 9/11 automatically didn't happen then I would pick that.

And then there's a lot of uncertainty about the probable futures that arise from taking action. Things could end up 100x better, but they could also be 1000x worse. And we would have no reference point or variables to make any kind of accurate prediction that would justify taking a risk of that magnitude. This isnt stopping the kindergarten bully from pantsing you and making you cry in front of Bethany O-Grady. This is real life. Bring me the deconstruction and disarmament of all the worlds terror organizations, and then ill change my mind.

I would pick the 5 million because nothing would change other than the fact that i have an assload of money right now. I wouldnt want to mess with the timeline of history anyways because who knows what would happen, for all i know things would have turned out even worse or i might not even be alive right now.

edit: also i was 10 at the time, nobody would have even given me a second thought even if i could have prevented it.

the only thing that would keep me from stopping 9/11 is, as others have said, it would f up the timeline.

butterfly effect and such. Say for example, in a world without 9/11 every single event would play out at least slightly differently, theres not telling what might happen, or if something far worse could occur. There could be a WW3, theres just no way to be sure.

I think I'd take the money. Not because I want all the people dead but I don't want to play god (not that I believe in one). If someone said 2000 people were about to die and I could stop it or get $5 million, I'd stop it for sure. 9/11 happened years ago though. Those people are already dead, and there are surely others that have died or not been born that would have. There are also surely some people that due to the colossal event that was 9/11 would never have been born in the first place.

Small changes in the past could bring huge changes in the present, just think what huge changes could bring.
